Never know as Smith out for most of this year anyway and won't be resigned.I’ll send my hat over for his signature right now.
There’s no way Nick is falling for that.
We would need to extend Smith at a lower rate 1st though.

Aussie cricket team has moved to a more family focus in recent years. At the end of the day NRL is a results based business and Benji will be judged on that, I’m open to his method and we can judge him over the next 12-18 months as he is starting to get a roster that probably demands a rise up the ladder.![]()
The Bennett factor: 'he's big on family and big on mateship and that's the first thing he brings to a team'
Bennett legacy: 'I'm just Wayne'www.foxsports.com.au
Contracts run 1st Nov to 31st Oct. Warrington footed some of last season’s contract but Tigers would be paying him again since 1st Nov. Under the RLPA agreement a player is due back to training depending on their age, off season rep duties, etc.Question. Are we paying John Batemans contract at the moment or is Warrington or wherever he played on the loan deal. He had not come back to training due to commitments to the English club (that's the excuse he gave anyway), therefore we wouldn't be footing his bill until he comes back? Is that right?
Bullshit.Show me another coach who says it as much as Benji
It’s embarrassing
Watch the presser - at the end Benji rants about family
It’s unnecessary
It’s implied.
I think it’ll be his undoing
That or is he’d successful he’ll be a pioneer
It’s clear benji is a great human
But he’s not there to make sure players have a happy marriage when theyretire
He’s there to win football games
Be tired all you want. If Benji doesn’t succeed he’ll fall on his families sword.Bullshit.
I'm happy to hear him bring some balance back to the conversation.
No one should ever apologise for putting family first and that is not mutually exclusive to winning football games.
I'm tired of this bullshit rhetoric.
It's a f*cking witch hunt.
If Benji's to be critiqued on his coaching ability, which he should be, his prioritisation of his family should mean Jack shit.
That's a message more people need to hear. Not less.
Yep. It clearly has not hurt our recruitment of players and it is a very nice change. Clubs, including ours, have let a lot of domestic stuff slide since forever. Look at the sadness in the private lives of Tristan Sailor, Sam Burgess, Hayne and Kurtley Beale. Benji is right that the real pressure is at home.Bullshit.

In fact I will hazard a guess that the approach is a direct contribution to successful recruitment of Luai and May. Happy home happy footballers that can give their bestYep. Indeed there are much healthier ways to bulk up, that shit will kill ya! If anyone has ever watched a video called Supersize Me they’d never go near Maccas ever again!Love it, but not sure promoting McDonalds is a great thing. It's a pretty dangerous diet for some.
What are you talking about?Be tired all you want. If Benji doesn’t succeed he’ll fall on his families sword.
The world continues to spin regardless of what happens in your personal life. We didn’t bring Benjis family up. He did. Success and happiness is not an entitlement. There’s a reason we have won 3 spoons in a row and it’s not because we don’t care about the players and their families.
Seems like a very politically correct takeWhat are you talking about?
😂
Benji having an emphasis on family and making that publicly known has nothing to do with the success of this football club moving forward. Nothing.
The world needs more family oriented people, not less.
Both sides argue the extremes.Bullshit.

Yes. Thats the exact team list I have! My only concern is whether Turuva and Skelton end up on the right edge together. Defensively that could be a worry.1. J. Bula
2. J. Skelton
3. J. Olam
4. S. Turuva
5. L. Laulili
6. L. Galvin
7. J. Luai
8. D. Klemmer
9. Koroisau
10. T. May
11. S. Fainu
12. A. Seyfarth
13. J. Bird
14. TDS
15. F. Pole
16. S. Fainu
17. R. Hunt
I think that is the best we can field in round 1, not a bad line up IMO. Short a good back rower. Seyfarth can do the job in the interim
Who said anything about having less family orientated people in the world? What are you talking about?
😂

Fair enough. I know his internatiol duties gives hime time but His manager Moses specifically said Bateman has commitments with the loan club,(off field club commitments. If we are paying his tab then he should have nothing to do with that club from Nov 1 as you said.Contracts run 1st Nov to 31st Oct. Warrington footed some of last season’s contract but Tigers would be paying him again since 1st Nov. Under the RLPA agreement a player is due back to training depending on their age, off season rep duties, etc.
The longer he is on our books the less of his residual contract would have to be picked up by another team if he moved. Say he swapped teams on 1st Jan, Tigers would’ve already paid 1/6 of his salary. Thinking about that it means a player has already got 1/3 of his yearly salary before the season actually kicks off with Rd 1.
Well saidBoth sides argue the extremes.
Seems to me Benji has more of a messaging issue than anything.
Family first doesn't mean you don't turn up early or stay late. It just means setting some boundaries around it so it doesn't consume you and your family isn't always the last thought.
A lot of the guys have turned up early to training when it was their time off. Assuming this could be family time, yet they are still there.
I actually think Benji just means being home to have dinner as a family and help around the house with chores / homework whatever before the kids go to bed.
I'm sure once the wife dozes off, he gets a few things in for the next day.
With the team we have now, half a season will tell us where we are and where the problems lie. Until then, we should enjoy what's to come.
Did Bennet say family is more important than football in those quotes ?
Also there’s many people - and books - written about Bennet that he uses that to manipulate players and then dumps them after
Whereas I think benji is more authentic about it than Wayne - and that’s the point
Bennet uses it as a tool to get his players to love him
Benji actually means it - “football is a tiny thing compared to family” quote from Benji the other day
I love Benji btw
No way we get luai or May without Benji
But he needs to stop saying stuff that seems like we aren’t a club that will die to win football games
Yeah but we’ll have to be chucking in. There’s no way we get away with a straight swap. Although I have more confidence we don’t get bent over in these deals now Richo is here.Never know as Smith out for most of this year anyway and won't be resigned.
