But speed isn't the be all and end all.

Take Klemmer, he is a big unit and actually can build some pace to him.
What he can't do is change direction as easily. He lacks the quick stepping of say Samuela Fainu.

Big guys can run, small guys run around them.
No it’s not the be all, end all, unless you’re the quickest to the ball when the game is on the line?
Dude? Of course there’s more to the game but, Speed helps everyone at everything.

No remember it , because he got sin binned for a shoulder charge / got suspended because , to prove my point , he wouldn’t hit and drive . I remember thinking at the time , why did he shoulder charge him ?
I’m not being critical , but I had a mate when we were kids , who used to shoulder charge because he was afraid to tackle properly . It’s probably unfair to AD to compare him to that , but that’s what I see .
You and @The Chad are both mistaken. Doueihi has only been binned twice with the Tigers. Once for a professional foul in 2020 and then for his tackle this year.
There is no footage anywhere of Doueihi making some great chase on Turbo. I'm pretty sure it is his tackle on Moga that @The Chad somehow remembers as Turbo.
In fairness to Doueihi it was a great chase on Moga.

Turuva at Centre and Staines on the wing is better than having Toa. Latu Fainu instead of TDS allows you to cover way more bases than just giving Api a rest too. Plus Klemmer will be in the 17. Most likely starting with May
Rather a cardboard cutout on the wing then Staines.

Whatever dude , he got suspended for a shoulder charge close to the line to prevent a try . I didn’t say just 10 in the bin .
Achtuwlllllllyyyy …….

That’s not true at all . When did that chase down happen ? Are you talking about the shoulder charge into touch from like 3 years ago ?
That player doesn’t exist anymore . And chasing someone down when you let the guy through in the first place , is the bare minimum standard allowed by any defensive metric .
And his weak defense , I’ve said before so I’ll say it again, I brought up numerous times in his first years here , and was told to STFU and jump off Luke Brooks’ penis . Litterally . As if they’re even remotely related .
So spare me with the poor AD stuff , because for many of us , who’ve been really cognisant of how and why our defense is shit ( I’ll give you hint , it’s mainly due to laziness and buy in, not ability) , someone like AD really pisses guys off . Because he’s massive and moves really well , and really should be one of the better defenders . But he’s the opposite . So it’s either 2 things . He doesn’t want to put his body in front of the man consistently , or he hasn’t worked out yet he’s a large human being, who should be putting his body in front of guys .

His lack of lateral movement due to his injuries , wouldn’t be an issue if he could actually use his size to whack guys out wide . Which is where he should be moving to . But no one in thier right mind thinks AD can make it as an edge back rower , even though his skill set screams edge back rower , because the guy can’t defend . Like his skill set in attack is soo suited to edge back rower id argue he has origin/ elite potential in that position .But his defence is soo bad no one wants him first grade . And he wants to play half for whatever reason …
Thats where his game is at. And it’s a real shame because defence is 80% attitude , and there’s a gaping hole screaming for someone like AD to step into on the right edge .
Harshly put but 100% correct. The bloke should be feared by every centre he opposes but instead, he's the weak link they choose to target.

If Bateman wanted to show everyone that he was willing to let bygones be bygones he would turn up earlier for training just like most of our new signings. Instead he fights tooth and nail NOT to be here.

He won’t be in the Tigers 17 next year.
When he does turn up he will have to do the time trial and tummy fat roll test, right?
Failure to comply, the show cause letter and meet the board.
Could be another Jordon Miller experience?

14. TDS
15. F. Pole
16. S. Fainu
17. R. Hunt

I think that is the best we can field in round 1, not a bad line up IMO. Short a good back rower. Seyfarth can do the job in the interim
I agree, not a bad side on paper.
Pre season training may change things but good for December!
Anyone one else kick goals when Api is off?

Top 4. Mix up the front row to suit, Hunt to start, Pole to bench etc. The backline we've always wished for!
Finally somebody other than me who doesn't think Sukkar is crape.

No, it was definitely Tommy T.

From memory, Tommy was not long back from one of his injuries.

If I'm playing with a straight bat, it felt to me like Tommy might have been slowed by the injury.

Plus Walker and Smith out for much of 25, they will have some struggles next year, but think there is still a lot of quality there.
Dare say even with all those outs they will still have more internationals and SOO players in starting 13 than the tigers will...
Good post. Joey Manu is their biggest loss and the NRL's biggest loss. He has been a very good player for a long time. It is sad he will be wasted in rugby.

If we are purely talking about slow or fast, it’s certain Doueihi beats Olam by 5-10metres over 50metres and would beat even further over100metres.
Yes Olam hits hard defending when the opposing player is on front of him, his lateral defence is no better than Doueihi’s.
Which is pretty insignificant really because most runs on an NRL field are about 5m before contact. Olam is the guy a defender doesn’t want to see 5m in front of him
with the pill.
