These imbeciles are the only thing negative with the club atm. Fair dinkum I can't fathom how these individuals on the HBG board can be so narrowminded, stuck in their own little world of 40 years ago & just outright dumb.
I'm sure that most on here have had a gut full of this HBG crap I wish V'landys would step in and say no name change.

Just like the other guy …no one is forcing you to hang around … it’s not Scientology …you can just get up and leave
The other guy is just venting his concerns about a 3 Pete Wooden Spoon club he hoped would not regularly operate like a basket-case.
In respect of Scientology, David Miscavige and Tom Cruise are surely far more liberal minded these days and I am sure if you were a member (I am not) you could just get up and leave even if you were in the Seaorg.

I think you got the wrong idea about Scientology … much harder to walk away from than the Tigers !

Im not taking it as seriously as some others…. They can’t seem to let go unless the club also dies ….That seems very odd to me …
Tom, I think you’re looking at it the wrong way. The question should be how can the behaviour of the boards be modified in such a way as to bring about a satisfactory outcome.?
And none of us know the answer. The NRL have tried taking them to the precipice at least on one occasion that I know of, maybe more?
It’s had 25 years to fix itself and it hasn’t worked.
This is the sort of behaviour from the club which is delivering us the spoons. It’s not something that can be remedied by getting a couple of good players signed.
The club has become a political hotbed and I’ve seen Richo looking a little stressed, while other CEOs are on the front foot.
We need a circuit breaker.

Apparently it’s as easy to leave Scientology as just not attending.
I think when people want to make a big deal about leaving it is taken as a cry for help, a “please convince me to stay” question.

When did the NRL “take them to the precipice “ previously ? I actually recall them bailing out the club with interest free loans a decade ago …when they might have gone under otherwise …

There is no doubt that things need to change…and I think you are being disingenuous if you are trying to say that I am arguing otherwise ..

But I don’t have the answers to their problems either ,,, , there is an unfortunate situation where the owners and controllers of the club seemingly have a priority of saving their own skins rather than trying to win games and ultimately premierships … unless they voluntarily step aside, I don’t know what else can be done in the short term?

I just make a point though, that people going on about winding the club up or giving the licence to Christchurch Orcas is pretty dumb right ? Teams go through lean periods …the Chicago Cubs went over a century between championships, and the Detroit Lions have barely won a playoff game in 70 years, but find themselves 11-1 this year and short priced NFL favourites … our 20 year drought is nothing in comparison…

I agree with you about Richo though … I doubt he needs this grief at this stage of his life,…if he is ultimately forced out by these shenanigans…it will put the club back further …again

I was under the impression that people leaving Scientology get phone calls and knocks on the door trying to get them to change their minds ?

I don’t think this is happening if people want to stop supporting the Tigers

Yes, I think it is looking time for action to be taken again.
If you guys go after them - make it personal…
I’m tired of these idiots hiding and being blindly referred to as the Wests Tigers board, or the HBG board… which the name itself even seems to distance itself from what it really is
“Wests Magpies” board and who these idiots are!!

Everyone knows who it is,
Burgess has been anti Wests Tigers for as long as we’ve existed.
Was of no surprise to me or anyone who’s had anything to do with the flea to see him re-instate himself within 12 months of stepping down oh so gallantly…

I hope the other 3 throw them fully under the bus…

If you think Julie and the Wig are going to lead you to the promised land ,,,,good luck with that ,,,
He is the wig - or one of his offspring…
Surely there can’t be 2 magpie fans on the planet that are that steady….

What do the Magpie fans do when the NRL rejects their take over - pulls the licence and gives it to the Brisbane Tigers?

The joint-venture has NOT created a genuine culture of its own (maybe it takes more than 24 years)? Yes some sporting clubs (within Australia and overseas) have had many many years without success, but this joint-venture is being so badly run that I can't think of one past and present committee member of the Wests Tigers Board who would NOT be on Santa's NAUGHTY list this Christmas. All self- serving without any consideration for the WT supporters. Yes I am frustrated, but this cannot continue and hence my serious suggestion for the NRL to fix it or hand the licence to another club who would have a front office that Jack Gibson would be proud of. Again my preference is the team that plays in Black, White and Orange to continue to exist in the NRL.

HBG need to tread carefully here.

This could be the catalyst for a showdown at the next licence renewal where a Balmain backed consortium goes head to head with HBG for the NRL licence.

I would imagine Triguboff, Elias, Blue Wiggle et al would be right up for that. HBG aren't going to get much support given the way things have gone since they became majority owners and Harry has deeper pockets.

Not saying this would be ideal, but people start thinking of ways around these situations when there doesn't seem a way forward.

The way HBG run the club and the fact they are not accountable to members, means the club is held hostage by these clowns and we can't see a way out.

The NRL needs to maintain a presence in the Campbelltown area … they won’t be doing anything to upset that and perhaps leaving a vacuum for the AFL to exploit in one of Australia’s fastest growing areas, and with 10,000 juniors according to Richo …

The ownership could change if the NRL wants to have that shit fight …. But if it does , Balmain won’t be back even with Triguboff the new owner

We can't be repping "One Jungle" as the club slogan with all this in fighting & back stabbing.

Common Ground needs to be the focus and that's simply the brand and achieving ongoing success.

I cannot see how the toxic culture we continually see at board level can be ignored any longer.

Time for anyone who doesn't want to be a part of the brand to step down 🙂

When Benny went to HBG with an offer they responded with, you can buy the BFC’s 10%, which was rightly refused. So HBG are possibly thinking if they can get it into private hands and then offer a profitable buy back it gives them 100%? I don’t know that the ARL or NRL would endorse that though?
