I will be really honest with you, I haven't read that article because I don't really have any interest in what Elias has to say as I think he is an attention seeking grub that has no relevance to the Wests Tigers.

I will see if I can find the article.

You made an interesting but true comment "I am not a popular poster in these parts".
And that brings to mind you were once a Mod or similar on here.
Then you seemed to disappear all of a sudden.
The next thing I noticed was you had started a rival all things wests tigers' forum.
What happened to cause that quick departure?

Ok I have now read the article, he doesn't state that 100000 Balmain fan will protest against the HBG. He states that 100000 fans will protest if there is a push to rebrand the club the Wests Magpies.

I don't think there would be 100000 fans protesting but even though I have very little respect for Benny Elias i would join the protest of there was a move to rebrand the club to the Wests Magpies just like i would if the club was rebranded the Balmain Tigers.

Honest answer, at the time I felt disrespected and unwelcome here.

I never departed just don't post as much as I used to but have always been around as I have some great friends on this site.

Wow, good on yuh for throwing in the 'honest answer". This is the 2nd time you've said it tonight.
I'm guessing you must be trying to impress someone.
Would you like to tell us why you felt "disrespected and unwelcome here" as that is not very nice to have that feeling forced on you, is it cochise.
And did you stand down from your Moderator duty, or was there another reason?

What happened is very well known and most people have their own opinion on it, as do I. I don't really see any need to rehash that here and bore people with that.

Wow, you've done so well in finding the article and reading it in the 1 minute following my post.
I've gotta say I'm really surprised, dumbfounded even that you hadn't been able to find and read such an important article posted on here, prior to this.
But all that aside, you found the article and that's all that matters, I guess, eh!
 
BZN. Very good. When you bore - eventually you find the truth. Cochise - you were disrespected? - not from our side - it possibly could be just a figment of your imagination. You are a mover and shaker - but you are not the only one. Where you are different- like Leichhardt Tiger and a few others - you dont just talk - you walk.

I did say at the time I felt disrespected, not that I was.

See this is the issue I have with your posting style.
 
I mentioned about 6 months ago that Barry O’Farrell was quiet. I think somebody posted “that’s what you want from your chair.”
I still think he’s trying to stay a few paces away from the mud slinging action 😜
Do we have a market on Barry? Staying or going?

He is probably still trying to find all the bottles of Grange Hermitage that the board have hidden for their meetings

If the Wests Tigers as an entity has independent power in decision-making through its board with its majority owner HBG only holding one position on the board that would put our minds at ease.

Otherwise maybe we need to identify a corporate governance legal expert as potentially any underhanded behaviour by members of the WT board (i.e. Burgess & Montgomery) may be in breach of WT by-laws (much like HBG has served notice to Wayde, Tony, Gilbert etc). Gary Barnier might be worth a call.

I can only judge Gary Barnier from what I have read in news articles, and I have to say it seems like he has a bad business track record and NOT the type of person we would want anywhere near our Board.

Not sure it’s smart to cancel the guy because of his attempts to earn a living.
He may have done a very good job with Crawford on the review, but alas we will never know what was contained in the recommendations. HBG are not about to hand us fans a loaded weapon.
Anyway, a few of us here thought it was odd to have two finance guys doing a review on part of the organisation’s governance and culture. 😂

The HBG are very protective of their sweet deal and anyone who doesn’t toe the line gets punished. I think it was Simon Cook who had his membership ticket for Campbelltown games taken off him? 😂
