The upheaval is internal politics within the HBG and across our ownership groups.

Strange timing.
I'll be straight up. I reported Lestronge just now for an abusive comment of a sexual nature which followed a couple of ageist insults and rants.
I'm not a person the reports by nature but he crossed a line that the rest of society finds unacceptable.
I received a reply from the mods that the offending post has been removed and the matter resolved, yet the comment "I’m anti boomer" remains as does his original ageist post calling other posters "the geriatrics".
His comments are no better than minimizing a person's value due to their colour or sexual preference.

Personally I don't really care what he calls me but there's a standard of behaviour that shouldn't be tolerated in any community.

So no, I've discovered that the mods won't act in a meaningful manner.

For those who are against bannings, I agree, but some things just shouldn't be acceptable and you as a community should be better than that.

Obviously Ink I don't expect you to reply. It was just unfortunate timing.

I really can't see where someone saying they're anti boomer is offensive or abusive, it's a bit of a generalisation imo.. But I agree with you on the ageism stuff.
This threads devoted to a board named after two of our finest from our past, Holman & Barnes... History, magnificent and where we come from... And full of oldies like me & Keith H & Keith B.
But we need to adapt and move forward, keep up with the young...not get stuck in the past. Some are wise enough to know there's a lot to learn from our elders.

There were quite a few posts there on a theme of HBG being pushed to sell and especially the 2349 post I think where you mentioned some Balmain consortium would take over.

Got upvoted by many Balmain lads but what a fantasy.

I heard there were prospective Magpies consortium but yeah.

I think you've read into it what you've wanted to.

Was just saying when organisations are weak, they can fall if opportunists are organised and under the right conditions. If Rome fell, so can they. They should oull their heads in or at best, no one will want to work or play for this club. At worst, they'll lose the lot.

Obviously lots of factors are involved, but last time the fans revolted and got some action. If you think people are going to sit around and watch it happen again, especially when we seem to have our house in order within the club itself, then you might be the one in fantasy land.

I was, 6pm kick off on a Friday to watch rubbish really.........in the 70s, 80s, 90s the noughties......people wouldn't pay $50 plus dollars to watch that...
.in fact they wouldn't have watched it for free.

But they were there. 17000 of them.......and hardly an old Balmain jumper about.

But loads of Magpies jumpers.

You see, the club doesn't need the tiger.

That's your and perhaps for some others the real fear.

And seeing all these recruits and sponsorships upgrades........before the governance changes.

Both Balmain and Wests were regularly posting crowds of 7000 to 8000 in the 1990’s when the truth was probably lower. Both clubs were headed for oblivion unless they merged.

this year campbletown does not have quiet the friendly draw e.g. 6pm Friday and 6pm Sunday games, leichardt has preferred Sunday arvo games.
