Yes, but they vote on the majority of the HBG Board members as I understand it, who as we know, are currently at war, and they are the majority owners of Wests Tigers.

I feel we should know the (few) people who decide who run the football club.

This would obviously be less meaningful if WT had an independent board.

That is why the review recommended the majority independent board.

Riddle me this, how would you have felt if the JV club was called Balmain Magpies back at the start of it all?

The disrespectful muppet that comes to mind the most was from last year when the poster referred to our team as the Tiger's, so I politely reminded the poster our team was called Wests Tigers and could the poster please refer to us that way. The poster replied disrespectfully Imo with one word...NO.
At about the same time a number of posters were referring to our team colours as black and gold, so I sent them a reminder Wests Tigers colours also include white. I don't remember who these posters where, but I am pretty sure I didn't get a disrespectful reply.
But I do remember who the poster was that replied...NO.

There isn’t any Gold or Amber in the Wests Tigers colours it’s Orange.

The fans that refused to support the merger have already left. The others accepted it. In fact, I'd say most Balmain fans were pretty happy about being able to hold onto the Tigers name. It's the Magpies that were shafted in that regard.

Most realise there is an entire generation of Wests Tigers supporters that don't know anything about the foundation clubs.

There is no agenda by any fan to see a return to either club. I would say the biggest argument here is whether the home ground should be at Leichhardt or Campbelltown. There's a bit of nostalgia in that discussion, but the current crop of fans have their opinions on this too.

Most of us crave an organisation free from the old agendas so we can move on and move forward.

Just as I said in a post yesterday "THE MAGPIES LOST THEIR SOUL", and now it seems to me there is a push on to take away anything and everything that the Magpies have left.

And again, as I said yesterday the Magpies were left with owning 90% of WT's but in reality, that means zilch as you can't own 90% of a lost soul = 90% of nothing.

Wests Magpies didn't just gift Balmain 10% of the WT's, they gifted Balmain the whole friggin club.

And that's what I was conveying to cochise back in 2019 and he has put 💩 on me ever since.
My words to him then as I have already stated... "Balmain were vanquished due to owning only 10% of the club, while Wests Magpies were the victor in owning 90%, but it seemed to me like Balmain was the victor at the time as the Magpies had lost their soul".

A short while after my post in 2019 I did admit to using a bad choice of words which to a very staunch Balmain follower and Wests Magpies hater, may have sounded inflammatory, but the meaning of my words and the outcome that exists still today, is exactly the same.

And at the time I apologised if that wasn't how you meant it, problem is everytime you post it is some conspiracy about people trying to get rid of the Magpies. I have been a big supporter for many years of keeping the reserve grade side the Magpies.

I will say to you again, there is no victor, there is no vanquished, no one has been gifted anything. We are one club, the Wests Tigers, get on board it is going to be a fun ride the next few years, much better than anything that Balmain or the Magpies can provide.

It’s soo counter intuitive though ! Read what he just said . He said wests disappeared in all but name when they handed over the mascot name in one breathe, but in just about every other he’s claiming that “ze germans” are coming to get the magpies too .
The club made the right commercial choice in picking the tiger over the magpie. Globally the tiger is a brand people get behind. But I understand how an old magpie supporter can feel left behind .
But that’s life … The trains always coming and going , and sometimes it leaves early and to places you don’t want to go . So you have the choice of getting aboard anyway . Or sitting back and waiting for another one . That might not come .
And I think soo many on here have barely got on the train and are just clinging to the sides waiting for a time to jump off , or still back at the station hoping for a better train .
