Player Dramas in the NRL

The legal system has failed the family terribly,if the Qld government has any heart they should appeal the lenient sentence
Yep it’s $ 1100 dollar fine for driving with a phone in your hand , sober , licensed , insured , and caused no injury or harm , no crash , part a lot of people have missed is the judges comment ( with a cocktail of drugs in your system , so cocktail means more than one type

Mam... 6 month loss of license
$850 fine.
No conviction recorded

What a joke
Are u really surprised? It’s QLD!
Payne Hass mother had several bad offences yet let off every time. Then as she’s on the run from the police she drives on the wrong side of the road and kills people! She should of already been in jail, yet no, and kills people! Rednecks

Blanket rule
Pre season start date till end of season incl test matches etc
Get caught with illegal drugs in your system 2 year ban , no exceptions
Put it in the nrl contract
It starts at junior level under the age contracts are given , or other, get it in early then the players understand from early on it’s a no no ,
Brother...it is in early. They are Federal laws. Do we need to reiterate them in contracts?

Yes
He was driving with no licence so he should get couple years for that
He was driving whilst affected by illegal drugs in system , 2 more years
He was driving and lost control of motor vehicle causing injury to 3 people whilst on drugs and unlicensed , 3 - 6 month Jail
NRL Ban. 12 months total ban , no play no train , get a job .
Peter V where are you , fix this so we can see you just don’t ban name callers on big bans but drug affected unlicensed menace to the public get the same
You're intense brother. If you were running things, we'd all be doing life sentences once you'd have finished stacking charges. Why worry with the NRL ban out of interest? Under your system he'll be 75 when he gets out.

I was at a BBQ Saturday night and the conversation about the leniency to Mam cause the mother of the child passed away, I haven't heard anything about the mothers death is it true have you guy's heard??.
Surely not

That sounds like an urban myth and i sincerely hope and pray that it is even though i am not religious. It would be the worse possible outcome you could imagine

The mother of the girl and her cousins run down in. Oatlands in 2020 has been interviewed and says she feels traumatised and sick at Mams "penalty"

Heard on the radio earlier on today that the NRL have served the Breach Notice on Ezra Mam and have also leaked at the same time that a 9 week ban is going to be his likely punishment.

Don't know how true it is but I believe this has been leaked by the NRL because of the public outcry over the leniency of the court decision and because the NRL are too gutless to hit him with a ban that is in keeping with the expectation of the general public.

They have leaked this over the Christmas/New Year break while the public are otherwise occupied in the hope that when they make the announcement official, it has been out there long enough for people just to accept it as another wet lettuce leaf slap for one of the higher profile players in the game.

Don't know about anyone else but I believe that somewhere between half a season and a full season ban is probably the expectation that the average person would consider reasonable for what he did.

totally agree with you!! The prized Broncos get another leg up, if it was one our players they would cop the full season..pathetic by NRL!!

A year would be appropriate but unfortunately even that would not give the family justice for what he did

You're spot on about the timing... But they all do it even WTs... Trying to dilute unpopular news

If my memory serves me correct Kevie Mcguiness got 12 months for having a pinger, didn't he.

It was 12 games for cocaine wasn't it? And they let him off after 9, while Craig field had to serve the full 12 weeks.

Something like that anyway.

It was longer than 12 weeks. They got busted after about round 5 and got suspended till the end of the season. Field never played again.
