Commercially the magpies would be crazy to do that . It’s not exactly a strong brand (neither is wests tigers) . Like it’s not synonymous with success .
Balmain in the end is exactly the same , the problem or good thing depending on your outlook , is when people reference them , they almost always ignore the last 9 years prior to the merger . So there’s this weird kind of memory loss and nostalgia around them .
I don’t live in western Sydney even though I grew up there . I have no connection at all outside of the wests tigers RLFC .
In saying all that. I’d be careful about where the information came from . Tony Adams is a Sheens shill , and has been writing negative wests tigers articles the day sheens got tapped in the shoulder because Father Time had caught up with him in more ways than one unfortunately . And The Kea are being opportunistic and trying to align themselves to a known commodity with a very loyal fan base , although once again outside of the festive vibes and piss-on of LO, how big is that fan base to Balmain ? I honestly don’t know .

They close the Wests Tigers,I leave rugby league…

As stated NRL need to take control of the situation.We are the embarrassment of the league…personal agendas being put before the clubs longevity and any future success.

Embarrassment to who? The average league fan wouldn’t have a clue what goes on in our boardroom.

I'd be worried about what VLandys thinks actually. Sending wests magpies fulltime to Campbo and give NZ a Sydney link and keeping the tigers brand may be appealing to get to team 20.
Don't forget he thinks PNG and the Bears linking with Perth are good ideas.

I still can’t get my head around the PNG team. What a rort of a way to introduce a new club.
 
So it looks like another year where we tear ourselves apart off the field, i can only imagine what the players must be thinking??
We deserve everything we cop in the media and unfortunately we probably deserve where we finish on the ladder.

What do you mean ? Go on any NRL page across any social media and watch the never ending bagging of the tigers . It’s actually morphed into pity , which is even worse .
That’s when you know you’re screwed . It’s not even funny to them anymore .
 
Guys the inclusion of west's magpies/kea tigers would mean another team within the Sydney (though one split between NZ and Sydney) area no way the NRL would allow another teams presence when it is already congested and agree who's going to follow the magpies or Kea tigers (so lame) probably about 1000 brontosauruses on dickhead pills.

Sadly what I was worried about since this process started.

It will probably get worse as more people lever off process.

Any public process like this was always going to be destabilising in a JV with a broad fanbase.

And Sadly peoples true colours are coming out in this forum........seems anyone not fully onboard petition/review process even if supportive in a nuanced way gets abused and shouted down.

Very disappointing, and this BS is actually turning me off club.

That’s cos we’re always losing. That’s all the average RL supporter notices or cares about. If we won a lot more our image would improve immensely.

If the board was left alone to choose competent people for the board so they could get on with the job and not be stabbed in the back by 'turncoat' board members, I reckon the club could be well run.

But on the other hand, I strongly believe Cochise being from the Balmain side of our JV wants it his way, and I believe he will do anything to strip away even the tiniest bit of control the Magpies may have.
And Imo he has proved that by shutting down anyone that dares to come on our forum and speak from a Magpies pov.
Why do you think there are so few people on here that have the guts to stand up and be counted by speaking from a Magpies pov.

It's a David V Goliath battle on here for anyone from the Magpies side of our JV to be given a fair hearing before being shut down.

The people on the board are hopeless and causing all the problems , it’s the people on the board and they are wests in Remaro and Burgess
 
So sick of old Balmain and Magpies supporters trying to rip apart the JV. It was a JV 25 years ago, but I wish people would think about all the diehard WT fans (myself included) who have only ever supported the one club. Balmain and the Magpies have been dead for 25 years. Let them both RIP and move on

nrl needs to step in and appoint independents to the wests tigers board

The Nrl will not care if we split as both clubs do not have the financial clout to survive, and it makes more feasible sense to allow our top juniors to be poached by Manly, Souths, Parramatta, East in the eyes of the Nrl.

Manly representative currently/actively trying to sign current members in Ball and Matthews

This is not about Magpies v Balmain, it is about professional management and proper governance to give our club a chance at sustained success.

Mate as a long term Wests Magpies supporter from 1964 the Pies were dead in the water if it wasn't for the generosity of the Balmain Tigers in agreeing to offer the "olive branch merger". I used to dream Black and White in the 60s, 70's, 80's and 90's but those days are history. It has been the WESTS TIGERS, and old Balmain and Wests supporters need to sell their Jersey's at a Garage sale or drop them into Vinnies or the Salvos.
