Sarcasm? Many would agree with me that they were promised to get any breaking news as members. Didn't hold water. But I like your thinking. I see where you going.

Oh, I just assumed you were being sarcastic. Richo controls the media now and when they report things, does he? You give him too much credit. I preferred the old blokes who leaked everything and didn't even promise anything to members. Tales from Tiger Town Part 2 and the return of Ask the CEO? Yes please!

@diedpretty the fact that you signed the petition but are still coming into this thread and arguing with everyone when we’re all on the same side is nothing short of moronic and disgusting.

If those numbers are correct
Rick Wade 8 years
Tony 6 years
Dave. 6 months
This shows that the Romero / Burgess led board have no fear and will inflicked big punishment for those who don’t fall into line
Rick Wade 8 years is the perfect example of a group of people who are extremely out of touch with reality , it’s look at me look at me , we need to push this so hard that the Romero and Burgess show implodes on its self , the negative publicity around these debenture holders needs to be pushed right out into the open with names so they pull there heads in and don’t support these 2 idiots
*inflict

Not inflicked

Gave me a laugh on New Years day though. For that, I'll be forever grateful.

I see you're trolling me again.
It was a genuine question as to what the originators of the petition are actually hoping for - is it really to change the HBG governance which on the face of it is a big ask or is to create as much embarrassment and bad publicity to at least get HBG to finalise the review.
I'm not arguing against the petition- i signed it on day 1
As for the second part - i would also petition the NRL to step in and either force the finalisation of the review and therefore an independent WT board or to take control of WT with an interim board. They hold the licence so im sure they have the power to step in.
I think either would be a good outcome provided the review recommendations proceeded without amendment/interference

I think this sums up the issue some people are having with the petition. No one is questioning the why as its pretty obvious to 99.9% of people on the forum that change has to happen for WT to move forward. I think what people want to know is how is the petition going to force HBG to change their constitution/governance. The 18 debenture holders are not going to vote to change. So you are relying on some government intervention which is a pretty longshot considering the current constitution has been in place for 70 years and HBG appear to be thriving as a club.
I think constitutional change would happen at the member level. So I think this can all happen in spite of the debenture holders. Hopefully that is what Rick and team are pursuing now.

Thriving as a club is just good pokies revenue. I wouldn't put too much credit into that.

The actions to remove the other directors should be enough for nsw govt to step in.

There are now politicians calling for the NSW government to get involved.

People said the same thing about the last petition. It won’t enact change, it won’t result in anything etc but then it was successful.

Do you have any alternate suggestions or are you just here to throw stones?
I don’t believe Diedpretty is throwing stones. I think the question is reasonable and asked respectfully. FYI, I signed the petition with the hope it will enact change but the question is relevant as we all want the right outcome and who knows what mechanism for change, if any, it will create.

My issue is that he’s asking the question constantly and it has been answered constantly.

From my interpretation the outcome is to ensure the review is implemented in full, and the Wests Tigers board is made up of independents (mostly) and structured in line with the recommendations from the review, and to insulate the Wests Tigers board from continual involvement and undue influence from HBG leadership.

To do the latter, consistently over the long term, HBG governance needs to be restructured to cease the antiquated and archaic debenture system.

Mate he told me to shove stones where the sun don’t shine 😂. If that’s not being oppositional I don’t know what is.

We’ll have to agree to disagree about him being respectful.

I appreciate your perspective too and the points you’ve brought up. Hopefully I’m not trying to be too combative with you over your perspective.
