Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sione is a necessary signing to keep the Fainu's happy. Meh so be it.

He definately has the body to be something in NRL. I just hope we haven't paid too much for him.

..

Guaranteed Moses will push Galvin's price up. Suspect he is waiting for MM to confirm when he will retire and he will arrange the contract renewal for then. Giving a 3 way bidding war between us, Parra and Easts.
I think Sione I a nesecary signing to show the whole club if you progress you get rewarded, and yes he has improved since his Bros are here he has still improved. I don’t care what motivates a person but I want motivated people around me.
And if you get your good footy playing bros over too, well bonus.

Sione showed enough potential and did enough with it in his debut season to deserve a top 30 spot on merit alone for mine. I expect that he was re-signed on well below average dollars, and even if the club paid up to half a percent or so more cap space than they preferred to to help keep both him and the family happy, like you said, so be it.

Certainly better than almost certainly paying Sullivan and Bateman as much or more to play elsewhere this season.

I think Toa cops a bit too much flack, especially since he was carrying injuries for much of 2024. We'll need him this year because Olam is "broken", he'll spend more time out injured than on the field in 2025.
Bellamy knew Olam was past his used by date and was glad to offload him & pick up Blore. I think if he's injury free, Toa is a better option than Faataape.
Olams physicality over many years means his body has copped a battering, but my understanding is he was unwilling to repair his MCLs,which is what irked Bellamy. And understandably
Now been done
Hoping he has a big 25
Need both of Toa/Douhi to perform this year, and if not, May and the rugby kid will supplant them in 26 which will probably happen anyway

Laundy is bent like every other publican.

Good research over a mill how do they keep all their players under cap just stinks
They are a protected species, like the Roosters, just look at the "slap on the wrist' they (the NRL) gave Ezra Mam.....he should have got 12 months at least!!
They would have a lot of 3rd party money coming in and not necessarily all on the books and above board.

Wayne Bennett used to always talk shit about props…he set the benchmark for not paying them properly.
He was wrong then and he’s wrong now.
Great props transform clubs.
Too right, you only need to look back to Sironen & Roach or "Dallas" & Gibbs .....hard as nails......put the fear of god in the opposition, just ask anyone from the 1978 Manly side! 🤣

How the knees respond to the surgery the key he wasn't away from training too long so some hope not major damage hopefully at Melbourne he was just scared of the knife.

The Donkeys have always had an arm chair ride through the NRL. Some people say the bunnies are the favourites but I reckon the NRL love donkeys.
How many televised Friday night games have they had over the years.
TV = sponsorship = $$$. And money will buy you the NRL love, TV gets you better players, coaches and sponsors.

There is a chance the boiled chickens will finish the season under us playing roster has lost a lot will swing from the chandelier if this happens dazz as for the rocking horses madge has a record of pissing players off too one hopes they implode both scenarios a great result if happens.

Could of been a better result if hanley was on the park for the hole match Kaito clear intent to take him out how many weeks would he have copped today 12 min?

It was a bit before my time mate but I watched the
replays religiously. He swears he didn't do it on purpose

Those sort of signings are the ones killing us (forever) for mine....
Every Squad needs the Toa's and Nadens,
Blokes that can come in and do the job for a few games a year at best.
It's the Feledys, Tumeths and Matamuas that lower the quality of the top Squad.
Nasty paradox you face when in the junior ranks they look promising only not to live up to expectations happens a lot.

Didn’t Mam get 9 weeks out and a $90,000 fine? The media have well and truly inflated the issue. That is a significant penalty and is more than what he should have got.

It was offences of driving with drugs in his system and negligent drive as I understand it? Possibly a driving unlicensed?

There is a distinction between driving under the influence of a drug and driving with drugs in your system.

Driving with drugs in your system means you could have consumed it a number of days prior (up to 10 days cannabis, 3-5 days cocaine) meaning you are not impaired by the drug and it has simply remained in your system.

Whereas, driving under the influence of a drug has far more significant consequences because you would have consumed the drug at a time proximate to the driving and would be impaired by it. This is far more serious and carries a potential gaol term compared to the other offence which carries a maximum legislative penalty of a fine and disqualification period.

There would have been no correlation between the drug offence and the negligent driving in Ezra’s case which is why he only received a fine from the Court.
