Yeah unfortunately that's the trend lately by the way loved the scene in the movie once were warriors at the juke box then the quote too much weights not enough speed work stupid prick.
 
On Bird as an edge option…..
I think it’s a far better option for him - suits his skill set and is the closest position to playing at centre where he has years of experience. That experience should help him in D on an edge as well. He has the footy smarts to run the lines and to use timing where he lacks sheer pace. Also will play longer minutes than he would in the middle.
I think its our best combination with one of Seyfarth, Pole or Twal at 13 with Latu possibly an option once he’s fit enough.
 
On Naden…….
Please don’t suggest playing him on the wing. The guy might have the physical attributes, but being honest and not intentionally nasty, the guy is just not that smart a footy player and lets his emotions take over his game. He means well and his heart is in it, but his brain is somewhere else under the pressure of NRL. Depth as a centre at best.

May had JWH, Collins, and Leniu. Hardly a weakness there, and not a bad bunch of OB's to run off the back off too.

Likewise, Hunt had Ogden, Hamlin-Uele, Rudoplh, Hazelton (Fitz couldn't even fit all of them in), and had powerful backs giving them good field position at the beginning of sets too.

Utoikamanu had neither a supporting crew in the middle, or OB's to start off sets, particularly when Olam didn't play which was a lot. Easier for a middle to turn and jog back to the 40m to take a 4th or 5th tackle hit up, than back to the 20m on each attacking yardage set. Furthermore, Twal, Klemmer, Seyfarth, Pole wouldn't make the middle rotation of either 2024 Easts or Cronulla team.

I would not put Pole in the same sentence with that has been and our sponge-hitting duo.

You could make literally the exact same statement but change 'Naden' for 'Seyfarth' and position, yet people believe he is a good option to start in the backrow?

Naden should start the year in Cup to show that his attitude has changed, and work his way back into first grade from there. We cannot afford to be as poorly disciplined as last season.

We had 4 players rank in the top 25 of the NRL for penalties conceded last year being, with those players being Sezer, Api, Seyfarth and Stefano. With Stefano and Sezer gone, here is hoping that we can rectify that area of our game because discipline was one of, if not our biggest issue last season.

I feel the same about Turuva and Skelton. People keep saying these two will guarantee yardage out of our own end. The reality is they provided that yardage after the 2 best defensive lines forced many long kicks from the opposition. I think they are both upgrades on what we had but I'm not confident either can go close. I'd guess most weeks one or both will struggle to break 100m.

I think the jury is out on both of them in our system. Skelton in particular.

They both don’t shy away from contact. I’m excited by their addition.
