Interesting TO, have to say I was too immersed in Balmain culture to know anything about the Maggies.
By culture I mean lunch pre game at Balmain Leagues Club, walk to Leichhardt via the Orange Grove Hotel, watch the game, return via the same route and after half a dozen schooners at the LC pop over the Iron Cove bridge to the Drummoyne Rowers.
They were heady days, and nights !

I used to love all 3 grades, Sunday arvo, sitting on the hill at a suburban ground, with "footy friends", you know, people you only saw at the footy.

Those were the days my friend, and Laurie sparing and urging the fans to lift. Unforgettable.
