Everyone fails to remember he came through on the edge , and under Madge was shifted to the middle . Maybe he was never suited to the middle . I dunno . I just thought he did a job on the edge , and didn’t look out of place , and offered something .
I watch ice for 2 years offer nothing , with in year one the excuse was “he needed short flat soft balls in holes”, and year 2 “he’s lost a yard” and “looks disengaged” .
Chuck in Bateman crabbing across field and destroy the next play setup Everytime he ran it ( you’d just see the halves constantly shifting and readjusting on the next play , because running in your corridor was like interpreting ancient eqyptian for this guy) , I’m ok with having a guy who runs his line , keeps his shape , which enables the space for the really talented guys in the backs to attack retreating defenders , because block shape seems to be the only way of attacking 2025 defences .

What would I know, Maybe year 6 in the NRL we finally get to see him in Full Bloom?

I could be wrong, but I felt that towards the end of last season he was calming down a bit and was really trying hard to get some of the rubbish and ill discipline out of his game, just my observation and I hope he continues down that track.

There is no doubting the effort and energy that he brings.

I agree, I think that Webster obviously had a bit of an idea about his ability and potential and the offer by the Warriors that I think was supposedly for around 3 years, I'm pretty sure was made prior to them having Capewell, Barnett and Niukore on board.

I have been very critical of the baby giraffe, but one thing I can’t fault is his passion for the club and the game. He seems to love the collision at times and you can’t teach that. He also seems very team focused and if he’s been told to be more disciplined and has then be working on that and getting better, then I’m am willing to keep a bloke like that around. It’s hard to teach passion, dedication, and toughness, and we have put in the hard yards with him. But I need to see his football to progress this season or I’m upgrading him, or offering min contract as NRL cover if he wants to stay.

Baby giraffe comparison to Seyfarth Butt not getting it is it an old nick name?

Buggerall if you don't think Seyfarth is a first grader.

Realistically if he was at any other club the last 4 years, he wouldn't have more than 20 NRL games. Not many other clubs or coaches would put up with his poor discipline and defence.

He would be in the top 3 of worst disciplined players in the NRL if you're looking at penalties given to minutes played. He also isn't athletic by NRL standards, doesn't break or bend the line enough and overall does not have many strong points to his game.

Unfortunately he is just one of those guys who doesn't have much natural talent and tries to make up for it with effort. Can't knock him for that, its just the reality. He deserves to be in the NRL but realistically should be a guy that is number 18-30 on an NRL roster based on the talent around the league.

I think this is a fair take. he's always been a dedicated footballer who's been hellbent on improving but I wouldn't have called him an out and out first grader up until this year.

I've been pretty adamant for a while now that he is best on the edge. the day we beat Souths by a point in 2022 he kept Koloamatangi in his back pocket, which was no mean feat at the time.

with a preseason to put on some muscle and learn the intricacies of the position he should begin to cement his place in the side as an important piece.
