So,

1) Given the petition has been stalled for a week

2) Doesn't look like Liquor and Gaming going to do anything,

3) It’s unlikely there will be a change to an act of parliament re clubs act,

4) HBG doesn't have to take any notice of your petition,

5) And the chief supposed reason for launching the petition was to achieve what's just been announced.

What now @cochise ?
This would have been selected prior to the petition and Xmas , you don’t just select and sign up 3 directors in a few days and announce it without them signing anything

That's just a guess... They may well take some action they may not.. We don't know

All's good in the hood. Thanks to everybody for all the effort put in, Joel, Cochise, Spartan and countless others I'm not aware of. Congrats to us as fans we are no longer Western Suburbs or Balmain. Today after 25 years we finally became the Wests Tigers. Great job everyone involved. We Won.

There is NO evidence to support this claim.

HBG has a fully web based sign up page which then goes to a fully secure payment gateway.
BTRLFC has a web baes form which asks for mobile and email address with a "we will contact you" page (I dont know if this contact page then results in a form being emailed out, the poster did not answer this).

This is an issue with many of the comments on this page. Unsubtantiated claims of truth.

Some of us are posting factual information and have the evidence to support the facts (borard lists/Fin Reports/legal docs etc)

Others are claiming "facts" which are "opinions".

Not once on a post where I have asked someone to post the evidence to support their comment has this been done.

We are further arguing over an internal football club document which none of us has read nor seen, and relying on third party news stories to "factualise" the claims being made.
The only way to sign up with Balmain Tigers is football club is by putting all your payment details on to a form and sending it to the club. I've recently spoken to a director who still take my payment over the phone at some stage, but yes this process is antiquated. HBG is different, I'm also a member the y. They're a much much larger org, Balmain is entirely run by volunteers.

Not just cochise. Tbh it's a bit unfair to call 1x forum member out.

I think the independent wests tigers directors were expedited because of the pressure by the Unite crew.

Cochise is the petitions author.

His movement represents the 1500 or so signatures which aren't a majority of the clubs fanbase. Hardly representative of a united movement.

As the author of the petition which affects all fans naturally questions will be directed at him.

Spartan, as a corporate guy, do you believe these appointments were really made during in the last 3 weeks the petition has been circulating? Over Xmas and NY.

You know the process.

Wests Tigers posted on their website this morning a list of new directors:

(copied direct from the website):

  • Charlie Viola, Executive Chair of Viola Private Wealth, and former Partner at Pitcher Partners. Charlie is a prominent Financial Advisor and Industry leader, with exceptional financial management, commercial and strategy skills. Charlie grew up in Campbelltown and now lives in the Inner West;
  • Michelle McDowell, former Managing Director of Allied Express, bringing a wealth of experience in commercial, operations and logistics. Michelle has significant business acumen and is passionate about community. Michelle has deep commercial insights into the Western suburbs of Sydney;
  • Annabelle Williams OAM PLY, Former Chair of the Athlete’s Commission for Paralympics Australia, and former Board member of the Paralympics Australia and Swimming Australia. Annabelle is a Lawyer and a decorated athlete, with deep insights in High-Performance, and is an advocate for inclusion and excellence in sport. Annabelle grew up in Balmain
In addition, Barry O'Farrell also has been confirmed as a full time board members, moving from a temporary role.

Chair to be voted for at their next baord meeting 28th January
I wonder how many of these are close friends with board members?
Michelle McDowell is a definite.
Has this process been confirmed as above board, with the HBG board having no direct influence on the shortlisting? I find it very odd and concerning that they feel the need to mention where the board members are from/live. It's totally irrelevant

Are you questioning the integrity of the process ran by Elevte talent and Jill Daivies?

As a layperson ofcourse HBG would have signed off on any independent director , they might not be their lackeys but they going to do due diligence to ensure that as a shareholder their interest are to be protected from other parties.

So,

1) Given the petition has been stalled for a week

2) Doesn't look like Liquor and Gaming going to do anything, they began an investigation prior to the petition for the 3 suspended directors, unrelated to constitutional issues.

3) It’s unlikely there will be a change to an act of parliament re clubs act,

4) HBG doesn't have to take any notice of your petition,

5) And the chief supposed reason for launching the petition was to achieve what's just been announced.

What now @cochise ?

It’s going to burn you when you find out who is in the (FRG) Fans Representative Group

We haven't been pushing the petition since the press conference last week. I personally was happy with richo's assurances last week and I believe today's appointments are a big step in the right direction.

Once the external audit of the implementation is completed I will be incredibly happy to know that the Wests Tigers have been set up in a position to be successful.

That's funny.

Is that after Liquor and Gaming burns HBG.

At least we can direct the questions to him. 😉

The FRG will have to act in accordance with what fans want..........unlike now where he pushes what he advocates.

Correct, the HBG appointed the independent directors to the Wests Tigers board.

Location is important as it was one of the key selection criteria, had that not been the case location would be irrelevant.

I honestly think that if we get the independents on the WTs board as Richo said by the end of the month then all of this bickering and inuendo will cease...We are heading into a season with some really good vibes surrounding our future as a fantastic NRL side...
We all have to stay together and be strong in our support of the Wests Tigers because that is who we are, because of the coming TOGETHER of the 2 great foundation clubs we have an NRL team to be proud of..
Eventually the small potholes along the road we have travelled will be filled and wont annoy us again...
Our backrow remains weak as piss on paper. Proceed with caution.
