Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He also said he would "probably" tear up the contract of any player referring to a member of the the public by means of a cephalopodic slur.
I still can't understand how Teddy is not the face of the McDonald's Squid Game Meal Campaign.

Well the Roosters are not a team on the upward trajectory, so he’s barking up the wrong tree and setting himself up to be the scapegoat if he goes to the Roosters.
Lol really? You don’t think they aren’t a club who can turn their fortunes around with the click of a finger if they have a bad year? They are backed by a millionaire. They’d offer to set him up for life after footy. But hey, if can we just scrape into the 8, I’m sure he’ll stick around 👍

This isn’t mail or anything - but I find it highly highly unlikely that Galvin re-signs with us.

The way he has acted throughout the last 12 months screams someone waiting for his contract to end so he can go elsewhere.
agree. I feel like you can pinpoint the time when he and his family were angry with Moses and his antics (the Joey Johns chat about creating a legacy) and when Isaac began to regain control.

he’s been completely noncommittal and is reading from the exact same script Moses, Tedesco and Woods did in 2016.

with that in mind, Latu needs a full year in reserve grade to prepare for the worst. if Galvin does sign with another club come November, Latu needs to be ready. it’s at that point we can move Galvin to the edge or to 13.

Wests Tigers will finish above the Roosters in 2025, don’t worry about that.
People have short memories of how the Roosters are just as capable of going into a downward spiral as any other club.
Ask Kyle Flanagan how he was treated by them, nearly ruined his career.

Well at least we have Richo to steer us through whatever happens with Galvin .

I got the feeling if Pascoe was still in charge LG would already be gone with nothing in return for us .
How old is Richardson tho? Just thinking with the health scares he might not stick around for whatever Galvin does in 2027. He’s done a good job to turn things around with signings & if it’s a successful season or 2 perhaps he achieved his goal of turning around a failing club?

Don't get why players keep on wanting to go there a lot get crapped on maybe they are starting to wake up they have missed a few targets lately.

So now that Matt Lodge has declined the Dragons offer for this season .. should we have a shot at him .. ?? Even if we double the Dragons offer, he'll still be cheap .. ??
He has said he wants a top 30 slot. I dont want to use the final slot on him although if he would agree to a contract below that level Im open to it. If we can get rid of another 1 or 2 of the known under-performers I wouldnt then mind offering a spot.

Which is why we should have signed Onitoni Large with a clause in his contract instead of just letting him go
100% … I don’t get it

The media was saying we let him go and we would be negotiating with galvin in the new year in good faith.

And now it looks like he’ll play out the season.

Why would we give onitoni up - seems very strange

There is no guarantee our teams defence will be any better than last season, but there’s also a chance it will be much improved.
Defence is a mindset and the resolve largely comes from a team knowing they will be rewarded with scoring points down the other end and winning games if they show enough defensive resolve.
The team leaders are the ones that drive confidence and you would like to think the overall confidence of the team will be much higher with Jerome Luai on board, along with our other well regarded recruits and our emerging young players all being a year older and wiser.
I believe if the team gels, we get a bit of luck with no long term injuries to key players we can quite easily make the top 8, but if things start to go pear shaped we could also end up with another spoon.
Line speed in defense limiting post contact metres.
Have we been fit enough.... Or is it something else?
Coaches. Players fitness. Staff, have all come and gone yet the.same.problem.remains

I agree. You even look at Galvin's junior career and he was a mercenary even then. He bounced around junior clubs until he landed at a team that went undefeated for years. Left Parra at the first sign of trouble.

I also believe there is a good possibility that Latu ends up a better player than Galvin. Galvin was always going to look good earlier in his NRL career because he is a bigger body. I also have concerns about Galvins long term position, particularly when he fills his frame out at 23-24 years old and is 6ft4-6ft5. He will likely be too big and slow to play in the halves and end up in the backrow just like Wade Graham, John Sutton, Sironen, Matterson etc etc.
