Would like if the club had a look at Tallis Duncan to play on an edge. A very modern second rower, not the biggest but good ball skills and an excellent hole runner.

I remember when the game was on the line against Souths and Jye Gray made a break on the last tackle, Seyfarth with a couple others got back to shut it down and Gray kicked it dead. Except, Seyfarth decided to give away the most unneccessary penalty by taking out/shoulder charging Gray after he kicked it (the ball was going dead and was also covered by a few players). The game would have been over if Seyfarth didn't make that stupid decision.

Souths then make a break in that game and Seyfarth gets back, but he completely misses Damien Cook. He can't even make an attempt of a tackle because his lateral movement is so poor. Damien Cook scores and makes it 18-16 (attached highlights for context).

That game really sums up Seyfarths short comings as a player. Yes he puts in the effort and tries hard, but like ive been saying, his discipline, decision making, poor defense and terrible lateral movement make him more of a liability than an asset.

He should be a bench middle and nothing more.

Relax champ. It's an opinions forum. I thought Twal Improved his running game in 2024 yes, but to be honest if we want to be a serious team, neither he or Seyfarth should be in the top 17.

By the way, Twal made 7 more tackle breaks in 5 fewer games and average more running metres, if you want to go off stats.

What job does Twal do exactly besides getting dominated in tackles. We reluctantly extended his contract because our depth sucks.

He is too nice for a prop. We need more mongrel.

I'm not by any means a Twal fan boy, but this is just a observation/question for you.

Twal and Seyfarth both try as hard as they can and put in maximum effort. Yet, one is undeniably a great defender and is well disciplined (Twal). The other is a terrible defender and poorly disciplined (Seyfarth). So why does Seyfarth constantly get a free pass on this forum for being a liability, yet Twal who is seemly less of a liability get trashed more than Seyfarth? Not a dig just generally curious.

Not really bothered arguing the point anymore, I laid out the stats

We signed mongrel in Hunt and May and I'm extremely excited to see them both play!

They honestly would, Panthers fans see the value in a guy like Twal, a hard working prop who plays his role, is well disciplined and defends well. Even if its just squad role like Eisenhuth plays. They love the hard working, non-flashy forward types.

Seyfarth wouldn't last a year at Penrith. No way Cleary would put up with an edge forward giving up more penalties than any other player in the comp and making poor defensive reads that lead to easily avoidable tries.
 
Twal didn't show much last year but besides the head knocks he was hampered with another injury can't remember what it was but in previous seasons he has shown some good form let's see what this season brings, but agree he needs to eat raw meat and get face slapped before the game to bring some aggression.

He's all effort mate, competitive and hates losing. He is also improving. Twal is not.
