Agree . But nfl used to be that way here . afl was the same in the northern states , nrl in the southern . If you promote it enough for long enough , and make it apart of the sporting landscape (easier said than done ) then there’s a chance .
I mean really it’s a shame the English game is so diabolical. If elitism and ww2 hadn’t happened , maybe the main games are the super league games and the backwater Aussie games are the undercard .
Such a weird footnote that RL was massive prior to ww2 in England and France , and ww2 was used to try and squash the game .

Point being Dana White is very influential... Probably especially in Vegas.

I was living over there in 02/03 and playing Rugby in the Missouri area competion. We started a new team Rugby Team, recruiting from scratch with a Kiwi (lock) a Pom (second Rower) one Septic (5/8) and myself (Hooker) as the only players we had as a base. We were able to recruit and took the side from a fist game 660- losss to win the final agaisnt the same team and then attend the US 3rd Division nationals. Rugby was then the fastest growing sport in the US, especially in the universities.

The reason wast the there are only school level competions up until the College Drafts. If you don't make the university NFL team that is the end of contact sport unless you are into Boxing/UFC. The standard was low but defintiely growing and the standard was growing.

There was a league competition there, from memory in California, NY and DC, but really park level stuff. There are also AFL and cricket competitions running over there. There is every chance that NRL could take off over there, but are were well behind both of the other codes. The trick is to tap into the university system and develo a national competition from there. The NRL started out behind but if the this Vegas junket gets some legs could propel them up the sporting ladder.
