We have to live with it’: Sheens frustrated about Brooks’ Manly exit

Sheens was past it before we brought him back. he occasionally made some good decisions, but the majority of them were poor and we still haven't recovered from a lot of them.

giving top 30 contracts to stacks of unproven kids in this day and age is a cardinal sin. we still haven't fixed a lot of the deals he gave guys who weren't deserving.

You can’t be referring to Galvin? From an outsider’s pov, it appeared that the CEO and board were heavily involved in every aspect of the footy team. I know it’s crazy right? To hire a coach with that level of experience then micro manage and override his decisions to the point of dropping his half through the media. 😂

I am not refering to Galvin but to you asking about bringing Sheens back yet again. We should never have gone near him again after the mess he left the club in at the end of 2012.

That's what happens when no players except the dregs put their hand up to come here panic sets in and the resulting top 30 happens

yes and no. I'd argue he was far too impatient and placed too much faith in the hands of many uncapped kids.
I remember him blurting out when he first landed here there was a stack of good juniors coming through at the time only two that showed anything now was Pole and Bula, not counting Galvan our Makasini they were too young at the time.

he knew about all of them. Makasini, the Large's, Da Silva, Karnib, Isdale, Galvin, the Laulili'i's and so forth were all playing Harold Matts or were in Development Squads when Sheens was Director of Football in 2022.

he signed stacks of them to long deals with Top 30 clauses, the worst of which was a Top 30 contract for an incredibly raw Jordan Miller to keep him out of the clutches of Redcliffe.

Richardson's put a stop to it almost entirely.

What a disappointment Miller turned out to be if he could have knuckled down and get fit, had the size to be tank.
