Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don't really see Klem offering any more than Twal does. Little impact with the ball but quite strong defensively. If by moving D.K. on we can pick up another younger forward with better go forward, then i'm all for it. As for Tumeth - that really is perplexing. I really don't understand why he wasn't paid out to free up another spot. He is the invisible man at the moment and offering nothing except as a roadblock to top 30 spot for someone we may actually get to see on the field.

Yes, they wouldn't be in the top 13.

But I could see both being in a top 17, you know a 3rd prop...

This is concerning, We can lament Twal all we want but I don't see us having better people pushing him out. Romey, we need your Riff Phonebook!
This is more accurate. People saying that Twal and Seyfarth wouldn't make any other side obviously have an agenda. They are both good enough to make the 17 in most sides.....but top 13 would be a stretch.

What about Api?
Is he not included?
The only exception...

Literally the only star recruit I have seen perform here.
Maybe Matterson or Diane Laurie ... and that's a stretch.

Klemmer, compared to the rest of our star recruits has done well. I.e. turned up to games and done something (ok if plod a bit).

The above two names paint a sad picture of where the Wests Tigers are situated in respect of any prospects of playing finals footy! Whilst Seyforth is now starting to play with some mongrel neither would seriously make the top 17 of any of the other 16 NRL Clubs (IMO). It is still a long and winding road for WT supporters.
Take another look at the bench of all other NRL clubs.
Not too many have a 14-17 full of star players.
Seyfarth would not currently be rated in the top 30 second rowers in the NRL, but give him to play there on a regular basis and it could be different.
Also consider there does not appear to be much second row talent available to be signed anytime soon and not much at all jumping out that is outside the top 17 at their current club.
Rumours are saying the Broncos will be starting the season with Jack Gosiewski as one of their starting back rowers, if not definitely in their top 17.
Is he any better than Seyfarth ? I don’t think so.

DISGRUNTLED STAR EYES RETURN

Which player switched clubs in 2024 and now realises he made a terrible mistake?

The player - one of the biggest-name signings from last season - isn't happy in his new surroundings and would love nothing better than to return to his old club for 2026.

The former club would take him back in a heartbeat … IF they could find room in the salary cap.

Time will tell.
With all due respect because I know you're just sharing this, why would we assume the disgruntled player left the tigers. Isn't much more likely they joined the tigers lol

Only WTs would push an important player out 2 weeks from seasons start... Unbievably amateur tho if we can get out of his contract AND replied with better... Then weve hit the bonus feature... Big if tho
I think this year is still a big year for Richo to get our salary cap in order. Klemmer is another of the inflated salaries we have on our books after Sullivan & Bateman, so any decision to release him would be purely financial.

What's happened to Tumeth?
I don't think he's even had a run in the reserve grade trial.
Has he been disposed of or is this a not too subtle message?
I think I read somewhere that the club has told him to move on , but his manager is holding out for a buyout of his contract .
Pretty short sighted though . He will need to go to QRL to resurrect his career , as I can’t see too many suitors in the nrl .

Isaac Moses client. He won't move his players unless they get equal or more $ at new club and loves to try to get current club to chip in to save new club $, example Bateman.

Tumeth would be great in ESL with a shortage of good backrowers in that comp. It worked for Kai O'Donnell now at Cowboys. He is close to family so may find it hard to move away so young.

St George, Newcastle, Parramatta and South’s are all very short on NRL quality props, I could easily see one of those teams picking him up if it’s true that we are trying to get rid of him.
Klemmer may be on the decline, but he still keeps himself in great condition and it’s a big decline from the props currently playing NRL to the ones playing NSW Cup or Qld Cup.
We would be foolish to let him go and not have a suitable replacement ready to step in.

I don’t think trying to force a highly respected front rower to leave 2 weeks before the comp starts is a smart move…. Definitely going to have a negative impact on team morale when trying to build a positive culture. If we knew we didn’t want him then he should have left months ago

Rubbish. He was elite when he was with us. The trophies came after he left.
Rubbish back at you.
He didnt even have a passing game when he was here.
He had only just started playing Origin.
He was yet to play for his country.
He hadnt played finals footy.
Yes the trophies came after he left here...they add weight to the elite status.

Could be Luai - apparently he is going to be playing second fiddle here to Galvin.
Might as well stay in Penrith doing that and score another ring....
Nah he will get a 50/50 share here, rather than his 30/70 split when playing alongside Cleary.
Plus I don’t think he would like going back to earning 800k, when we are paying him 1.2mil.
By the way I went back and watched a lot of Galvin’s highlights from last season, it took me hours there was that many, but he’s definitely a lot quicker than many think he is.

Did he win us anymore games on the second watch?

I’ve never seen one man with 8-9 reasonable players assisting beat a team of 13 quality players and a few start players amongst them have you ?
Not even Fittler, Daley or Munster at their best could do that.
