We're not winning a comp with Klem in the front row. Happy to take the hit this year and see who falls from the tree.
Hard to argue, realistically we are at best a long shot chance of making the 8 this year, we will need the money to build our squad for coming years and I have to agree with Benji that we have a rotation that should be competitive. We still need to improve our back line, hope they have a good centre lined up.

I think it's a smart move. Klem is getting paid at level when he was a rep player. He is not that player anymore. Has had little impact as a forward leader more chance of younger players improving for a whole lot less and frees up valuable cap space.

The papers seem to think we're happy with our middle rotation.

"Molo’s destination remains unclear, but there is no thought of a straight swap. Tigers coach Benji Marshall is happy with his front-row rotation, which includes Terrell May, Royce Hunt, Fonua Pole, Alex Twal, Alex Seyfarth and Samuela Fainu."
Well I don’t share his thoughts , may and pole are it , and if he moves samuela to the front row who the hell is going to play in the backrow , Richo and benji have left us short on quality forwards , this will be the thing that gets him sacked .

We have May, Pole, Hunt, Twal, Sione, Johannssen and Laulilii. Name a club that has 6 starting first grade front rowers in their squad? Our backup front rowers have played first grade at least, it's one of our strongest positions for depth. Backrowers is another story

Assuming Klemmer and Twal are functionally the same, and you need one of them in the 17 with Hunt and Pole not being renowned for plugging the middle, then.I kinda get this.

Twals concussions are a concern though, but you can't blame the club for realising the 2026 trigger clause is not viable for us, and you can't blame Klem for looking elsewhere. Both parties get something but in a perfect world we never should have had him on more than 450 (which obviously means he never would have come).

To the people hammering the club on this, I get your perspective , but can he really be in the top 10 salaries we carry? Some of the numbers would probably have him in our top 5, but I'm guessing the Murdoch press calculator has a built in multiplier for wests tigers contracts.

We have too many middles who offer the same skillset. Slow, not overly skilled, don’t bust the line or create attacking opportunities. At the same time we have a single point of failure in the backrow. The club are doing what’s necessary on Klem.

Really and where did we finish last year , yes we have picked up may and hunt , but we have move on papa , stepho , Bateman and KLEMMER , so u really think we are better off , I say no I quess u say yes , let’s see seasons end who was right . This is what the forum is all about , different thoughts 😜

Look at how many big forwards the storm has compared to us it should send a message to Benji you would think.

We are the NRL club with the revolving door of Head Coaches. Klem came to the Tigers because Tim Sheens was coach. Sheens coached him in the Kangaroos team so Klem was more than happy to come here.
Russell Packer was impressed with what Ivan Cleary offered as a coach so he joined us. Then Cleary jumped on the first bus heading west and Madge took over. End of Packer's input at the Tigers.
Until we can attain some stability with a long term Head Coach that players believe are invested in the joint we will always suffer from players looking over their shoulders or agitating managers to move them on.

Of the four who have gone who showed any real quality or consistent form?
I’ll answer the question…. None .

Considering three of the four had only been here two years, it bodes well for the players we have starting this season. We’re really good at sweeping stuff under the carpet with “they were heartless, yada yada yada”. Why were they heartless? Was it really a player issue, or is it actually a club issue? What if these new recruits struggle? Do we just blame them? Does the club get a pass again?

Yes, they didnt have their heart in it when it came to the team … and in Bateman’s case also stupid
