The sort of food you MAY have been forced to eat as kid...

In the 60s as a kid my parents used to love as a treat steak and kidney pie and dad loved crumbed lambs brains. I threw up several times with those before they gave up on serving to me. On the other hand, loved baked dinners with lamb or chicken, stovies and beef and potato pies. Bugger all multi cultural things then.

And how can I forget tripe.

I love steak and kidney pie but i could never eat brains or tripe

Forget about it. You ever walked into.a kitchen and the main meal was plucked rats?,
Tell me where this legendary diner is?
I am there!

I think the one that got me was a country town Takeaway store.
Someone asked for a hamburger, they got a precooked meat paddy from the fridge, threw it in the microwave for 40 seconds, then served it up.

Dad thinking he could outsmart them, asked for a hamburger with Egg. They got a paddy, and a pre-fried egg out of the fridge, heated it up in the microwave, then served it... Dad Binned the burger, it was inedible.

... it's kinda gross, until you realise this is pretty close to what McDonalds do.

Maccas was never good but even the low standards they used to have seem to have sunk even lower to KFC level
