Cyclone Alfred

Best advice I can give is only look at the BOM website and get facts.
Don't watch TV news, their business is scaring you as much as possible so you'll keep watching.

2nd best advice if Albo is talking Ukraine, his properties and not this huge event that Ink brought to our attention - where our people suffer, lose their homes and livelihood. Then Its every man and woman for themselves.

Humans. Love talking disasters. So sad. Mimicking the worst of life. Not the best. Welcome to the forum. Benji. What did you do to us????? Let this people have some happiness in their lives!!!!! Win at least 6 games. Please. 8 is better.

Take care Mate
Cheers , we will be ok as complex is solid concrete including the roof and been hear for 25 + years , basement car park probably flood but will keep check and move car out if water starts coming in , only other issue is the wind as it can break glass and we are at the front so we have glass nearly all the way across and round the side that’s my only concern , trip over to beach this arvo , surf is still only about 4 ft but Morten island is in front of bribie so we get protection from the big seas , but they are saying we could get 5 to 6 mtr if cyclone come accross us , storm surge and high tide mix is also a big problem , no where for water to go if big rain , but most are preparing so that’s good

Have you been in touch with your local parliament member? Hope they have your back. What's more important. Zelensky or your family?

Is your place facing the coast?

Stock up on ice and water. Fill your Jerry cans. Tie down your belongings and cover any of your furniture that are near windows.
Lastly, bunker down, keep calm and enjoy the ride. There’ll be days of busy cleanup following so rest up.
You got this.

Cover furniture with what?
Tarps or plastic?

Get yourself down to Bunnings and get some packing tape for the windows.
I thought the advice was to evacuate Bribie and Fraser?

Just for clarity, if you're in a house or apartment built since 2000 and covered by as2047 for your windows and sliding doors 130km/hr winds will NOT blow out the glass.
Australian standards have a wind rating for windows that means no cyclone will EVER break them (unless a tree branch or trampoline accompanies it).
If you're in an older Queenslander I have no idea what the wind rating for older glazing is.
Also, try not to be a tool and panic buy. The world has enough tools.

Its not the wind, its the debris flying around within it.
