What? We were utterly disgraceful in every aspect of the game. If we can't beat Newcastle at home when Newcastle were terrible themselves then we have no hope. That performance was embarrassing. We looked uncoached in attack and defence, we looked unfit, and we were our typical brain dead selves. Challenge up our sleeve and we don't use it with 2 minutes to go when we would have got the ball back attacking Newcastle's line. There is zero football IQ in this group. The hype is all fluff and once we blow this easy draw we have to start the season, we will all crawl back into our holes and start talking about rebuilds again.

Galvin was average bc he is actually a 7.

He’s like Mitchel moses when we played brooks at 7 and Mitch at 6.

Galvin wants the ball or else he tries too hard when he gets it less.

I think if we struggle they’ll swap luai and galvin

The problem is that at the moment galvin isn't good enough to be a nrl 7 at the moment, maybe years down the line that will change but right now he's very inefficient with the ball in hand.

50+ missed tackles is a damning statistic.
I’ll check them out next week with Bula and API back and JL improved by the run.
If things keep going as they are I think Galvin might look for greener pastures. He seemed unsure of his role, maybe that’s coz of the JL influence. Disappointing start after the usual Tiger pre season hype.
Not sure the camp taught them anything tangible.

Too busy clapping the fella carrying the Log - Should have took the Burpees.
Still can't play for 80 mins, Had most of the ball in the first - All the calls and still keep our legs.
Still monstered in the Middle, Turuva, Doueihi, Twal and a few others largely ineffective....

It's all good, It's only Round 1.
Good thing there's lots of easier teams to play this year than that Knights side that were hopeless.

Some positives to work with, some areas that obviously need work.

Positives (in my opinion): Terrell May, Jeral Skelton, Jack Bird, and Royce Hunt ranged from good to excellent. Twal was quite good also. A few others were solid, if unspectacular. The effort was high, but the missed tackle count was higher.

Negatives: Galvin had a poor game, overplaying his hand. Hopefully he is put in his place during the week. Mason seems like a backup option only for now, Bula straight back in his place. Same goes for the hookers with Api, although Da Silva was ok at times. Attack looked very clunky.

I agree with others who've said with Api and Bula we likely win that game, but we need to get to a point where we can overcome a couple of important absences.

Very disappointing final result, but based on the effort and the players to return I trust they'll bounce back next week. Just need Luai to step up and Galvin to step off.

First - It was only a "Trial"
Now it's "Only Round 1"
Then it will be "Need to let the team gel"

Looking forward to next year when we get some of this dead wood off the books.

55 missed tackles and Luai and Galvin offering nothing….incredibly disappointing

This was my initial thought as well however, when you look at our centres the offerings are slim, 0 line breaks by AD, SF and HM. At least JS, ST and HM ran a lot of metres. Halves are only as good as the platform the forwards lay and the quality of their outside backs. Our guys didn’t even run a line that looked like it was going to create a chance. We have no speed or strength in our centres.

The try the knights scored through the middle was just sickening to watch, too many drop off tackles.
