OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I think Galvin plays with a lot of noise in his head and that leads to poor decision making and execution. Benji needs to provide him with a simpler plan for him to execute.
I still think once he learns that this isn’t junior football anymore and that at his development stage, less can sometimes mean more (less touches and more impact) - he will be so much better.

Yes he needs to be coached.
I’ll dare say he hasn’t experienced that much in his life.
This “go and have fun” mentality doesn’t work in elite comps. You have to actually create plans.

Galvin’s game wasn’t great, but we need to remember he’s only 19. He still has so much to learn and he might need a game or so out of first grade this year, which is where Latu will come in.

I also think that having a debutant and 19 year old hooker playing didn’t really help Luai or Galvin. Newcastle were all over Galvin every time he got the ball; with api there’s always a threat at 9, which frees up the halves, gives forwards steaming on to ball more space.

Galvin gets a couple of fifth tackle kicks in to the in goal and we win. Api plays and we score a close range try via May or Hunt while we’re up 8 nill and we win. Mason doesn’t drop that bomb and we probably win.

Frustrated to lose, but I think saying that we’re going to have a terrible season or Galvin isn’t the choice for five eighth is a little premature.

This is true, a day later I've usually calmed down, but I do hope we don't waste another year waiting for things to click. If it doesn't improve even slightly next week I think there will be huge pressure on Benji and Galvin.

Same thing happened last year mate! We came out against Cronulla and had our first win of the season.

Ok so Luai joined pretty much at Christmas and the team was back at it at early January. Gets injured in our camp that was probably late January then trials.
How much time have they had together?
I estimate about 3 weeks; is that a pre-season?
You're 100% correct. They had hardly anytime together. Luai should have played the second trial and things could've been worked out then.

The funny thing is there was nothing going on in preseason till Luai got there. The coaches and coaching staff were waiting for Luai to teach them the Penrith way. The place is a mess and if you think people are happy there think again!!

*****Karen alert with the tone policing.

While you might be happy the Tigers lost a winnable game by 2 points, have come last 3 years in a row and not made the finals since 2011, Tigers fans aren't. Brooks went to Manly 2 years ago, get back to the Silvertails forum kid.
Who said I was happy?
P.S I’m no kid … I started following the Tigers before Winston Churchill died.
Your flaccid opinions don’t hold much sway with me.

Hope was buggered after 20 mins and did little, its only round one...he might see a game or two more in firsts if hes lucky yet the brains trust upgrade a 28yo to the top 30...
Shrewd

There you go again . Just fighting with everyone all the time !
My intentions were 💯 just about lifting people’s spirits . But you’re just up to you’re trolling bullshit again. You just like … take pot shots at people until someone bites . It’s really sad to read . Don’t you have other things to do then argue about arbitrary shit on a forum ?
You go around and around at different people.
You honestly have issues mate . Like proper ones .
I’m done with this conversation , If you’re going to be a dickhead looking for an argument .
I don’t know how many times I’ve repeated myself now . Like at least 7 messages . If you want to take the absolute worst faith interpretation of that . That’s on you .
For everyone else . The seasons not over . We will be alright . It’s a different team to last year . Just keep the faith !
Don’t turn this around.
You came in like some big noting wanker and started laying in to most of the people that were here discussing the game. You didn’t offer any opinion, you just shat on theirs.
I gave you a friendly warning and you’ve reacted like this…so how about you F off and leave people to discuss THEIR footy team without the scolding of the male Karen.

You know what ? If that’s how you interpreted what I was saying . Then that’s not what I was meaning . And I’ve said multiple times, I was trying to come from a good place . Except that first post . Which really wasn’t directed at you but someone else in particular . And I’ve since walked that back on multiple posts .
But that’s ridiculous what you just said ! All my posts are about the footy team and what I see , and dissecting the game . Whilst also on this , I offered ann opinion on Galvin and why I think the team looked bad , whilst also mentioning that I think Api will fix a lot of the problems .
But that’s hardly deserving of this shit? And you attacking me repeatedly ?
Does that seem proportional? Or a rational response .
You’ve got mental health problems . Honestly …
I’m not doing this with you again dude .Every single week you find someone to rage against . Are you bored ? Lonely ? PTSD? This is not how you have conversations with people . Whatever it is that’s going on in your life to make you react to nothing comments on a forum the way you do ,you need to fix that shit . Because god knows how you must rage all day in the real world .. Because one day you’re going to hurt yourself or someone else ! Plenty of dudes I’ve served with have tipped themselves mate . All aggression all the time . Some used to beat their wives , you’d hear stories . Drugs etc .
Honestly ! Not everything is a nail that needs to be hammered in !
And just for the record … I’m not angry dude . I’m a little bit disappointed . I thought we were starting to become friends on here . After your first post , that’s one of the reasons I walked it back . I realised then clarified in the next post . Which went over your head it seems .
Like I said , this wasn’t a nail that needed to be hammered. But there you went again smashing shit like the hammer you are …friendly warning ? Nothing you do is friendly .. it’s all aggression all the time .i think you need perspective on your perceived .

I disagree. I think he plays what he sees. I think he does everything for a purpose to gage the outcome.
I go back to the the kick on the 3rd after the penalty when Galvin was behind the 40.
He is looking ahead seeing where Ponga is, asking for the ball off the ruck. Bird runs in between the passing line from TDS and makes adds more time until Galvin gets the ball.
He receives it and realises the 40/20 is covered and looks to and kicks back in field. Ponga also sees that and marks it easily.
That’s just one example.
Another is how he got the repeat set after the 3rd grubber through the line.
Each time he kicked that grubber he kicked it exactly the same way low driving and across the grain out towards the sideline.
First 1 didn’t have enough. Second was marked by Ponga and he gets back from in goal. Third made it out to the winger and the defence traps him.
He is a kid with enormous skill, learning to read the play and does so with a smile on his face every time.
What’s not to love.

Him learning his craft with us in a key position then buggering off

Luai & Gal have waisted a whole pre-season of "gelling" if that game was any indication of what they learnt from each other?
If Gal insists on having ball in hand, make him the half. But the spoon it out to Luai to be creative. Galvin is not very creative IMO. Just likes running, usually across field, crabbing, and crowding the outside backs. Lacks straightening the attack and off loading to support or cutout passes.
Opp. coaches would have worked him out now and have that base covered. Second year syndrome?
I know---------- "he is only 19".
Up to the coaches and Luai to sort him out, quick time!
I'm starting to think Galvin might be Luke Brooks 2.0

Mate you wont be relaxing for a while. Our first game , new talent , Campbelltown home game , all the hype, we couldnt take care of the knights who were very ordinary. Yep has a feel of last year about it. I hope Im wrong. I now say to myself i hope they are just competitive in all games and thats just after 1 round.
I was talking to my wife about the game. She has no interest in RL and knows nothing about it. I told her that as I listened to the game, it sounded like same old -same old, just like last year even though we have an improved squad. Her immediate response was, that sounds like a coaching issue.
