Never mind 9
Yes. Possibly even via kick return.
Maybe I’ll count up the receipts in game of every player and see how they line up to the stat count.
I looked at nrl. Com stats and. Sussed it out... I'm just surprised they'd put play the balls in with passing kick returns. Etc

*We completed 31/39 so that's a minimum 186
*A total of 226 passes puts us over 400 receipts...
*The other 26 odd were the incomplete sets

Well the dummy half receives the ball more than anyone else. If they omitted a play the ball it would skew the stat I feel.

From the stats above it seems broncs and storm bringing their forwards on to the ball straight off the ruck where we're bringing ours one or two wide
I was thinking the same thing. But yet also Howard had 22 runs from centre so the ball must of went wide a fair bit.
(which is like 2x the expected effort of a wide running backrower.)

We only conceded 10 points or less twice in 2024.

We only did it twice in 2023.

We only did it once in 2022.

We only did it twice in 2021.

We only did it twice in 2020.

Did it 7 times in 2019!

Of those 16 previous matches we only lost 2, so clearly keeping a side to 10 points with an regularity is a good thing.
It is but you have to factor in that they committed 16 errors and bombed at least 3 tries - most of which were not caused by us, and they lost the penalty count.
That is one of the wins we needed to make the finals gone. You have to secure these opportunities. We had 52 minutes to score our second try and couldnt do it.

No centres. No big guys.

31 completed sets is not necessarily 186 tackles. Kicking early in the count, receiving a penalty or a set restart is considered a set completion. Also if the siren goes when in possession when tackled that set is complete regardless what tackle it was.
This is also why average set distance can be a very skewed stat at times.

Looking like this is just about our strongest side we can put out, right side 2RF spot still not happy about and if Naden was available he would be in my side really hope we win this Sunday.

If Parramatta win. Then it ain't about the players but rather best team spirit. Cause we have the better players. What other excuse would you all like? What else is there?

I would be happier if our strongest side was in for 2 weeks in a row, changes look for the better but the gel factor is still there, don't like it when players are in and out every week I know injuries happen but you ideally need a settled side.

I rewatched the game yesterday and we weren’t as disjointed in attack as I remembered.

There were a couple of times Galvin should have released the ball wide and we score.

If Hope doesn’t accidentally pass to Twal instead of Luai we go wide and probably score.

While Newcastle (mainly best) bombed some obvious ones, we bombed a few less obvious ones and would have scored one or two more with Api there.

Also, stats say we missed a lot of tackles, but our goal line defense was pretty good. We missed too many in scramble defense; the miss on the player that made the break before their second try was a bit unlucky. 2 of our players came together awkwardly and he got through.
