OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Galvin isn't going anywhere soon. I expect he will have a stern chat with Richo about how stupid it looks when a contracted player likes a post saying he would be better off at another club. Once that has occurred it is back on the training paddock.

Galvin isn't the problem here and neither is his grub Manager - he is simply creating the environment for his client to get a good deal come 1 Nov. Wests Tigers aren't going to fall over because of this being in the media, Richo will have had discussions with Moses and Galvin so we aren't going to be blindsided. We are a step ahead of the other clubs because we can, if we choose, upgrade his contract from 1 Nov. We will have a figure in mind based on what Galvin is worth to us - we don't need to be concerned about any other clubs unless it is our intent to throw the baby and the bathwater at him to stay. If he gets a better offer than we are prepared to pay, looking at the future, so be it.

In the mean time we are developing Latu, without the pressure of playing FG this year. If Benji and Richo haven't already spoken to him and mapped out his progression from KoE to a regular FG starter I would be very surprised. If he starts knocking it out of the park in KoE this year, that is brilliant we will have a fight on our hands for a FG position and can push Galvin to wherever else it is that we need him to suit our team.

This isn't about Galvin, or any player for that matter. Sure he has potential, but this is really about what is best outcome for the club and our premiership aspirations.

He’s played ONE game alongside the NSW five eighth. And his suggested suitor looked like conceding 100 last weekend. The chicken little stuff is pretty amusing.
It’s not based on 1 game.
He did this most of last year as well….22 games for 5 wins now as our starting, playmaking 5/8.

Yea, sure.

We just have Galvin + Latu Fainu + Sezer + AD and don't worry Large you will get a turn.

This is another reason why I hate excessive Depth so much.
Talent wants to play. Good players quit because you have 5 bloody hookers and 0 prime centers.
Keep calm and carry on.

Sezer and AD?
Now you’re just trying to talk up your point. Those two were never in the calcs.

And then you start talking hookers?

Agree with much of that.
I would add that it’s fairly obvious we are going to lose either Galvin or Latu Fainu in the next year or two (there’s only one jersey with a six on it).
Of course the Wests Tigers of recent times would probably lose both of them. Hopefully that trait is behind us and we manage to pick the right one to keep 🤔

I gotta admit as much as I would be gutted to lose Galvin, its nice knowing we have Latu, it definitely takes alot of the stress off. I think its good for Galvin to do the talks this year, if he goes make sure we throw lots of money and years at Latu. It's worse if Galvin delays talks for a year and we don't know and risk upsetting Latu.

Sensible post @Jolls

I'm really surprised by the frenzy a lot of people are getting into here. The only thing that has changed from last week is Brown signed with the Knights.
Its a long way to November and a lot of water to flow under the bridge. It's a gold mine for the media all these clicks they are getting based on no new information.
If Galvin lets this become too much of a distraction it could hurt his next contract, and as alluded to by @Jolls this is happening :

In the mean time we are developing Latu, without the pressure of playing FG this year.
Which is how development should be done.

While Galvins mistake was he liked a post on Instagram. Poor look I agree, but hardly a hanging offence. He is still here for 2 years (and maybe longer) on great value for us. Thats a lot of time to win a lot of games of football. Who knows who will be doing what in 2027?

Nah I want him fit and healthy. Just at 18th man. I want players commited to the next game and the
future jobs ahead.Very distracted 19yo and manager.

18th man might be a good place someone who wants to be front and centre in the shop front
window. For a little while anyway.
A shop window in Amsterdam

But they played Latu at halfback last week. He just kicked the ball or shovelled it out.
They got flogged!!! Brooks 2.
Please, make him the 5/8.

When your assessment criteria is wins, and you support the Wests Tigers, you’re going to come to the conclusion that everyone is hopeless.

You only have to look at the many examples of players who have left and are now winning (handsomely).

It’s a collective issue and we need to identify players who’ll add to the collective. I personally hope Lachy stays, but only if he wants to. He’s a rough diamond.

The successful clubs are not embarrassed to have contingency for injuries and competitiveness - that’s how the wheels keep turning.

It still has a lot to do with how his C head manager does business Jolls how many times has he screwed clubs and us before, going forward he will get his hands on more and more of our juniors and ship them off to other clubs if he can, read he's got his claws into Godinet, this is just the start wait until our development base gets bigger with more talent coming through the A hole will throw a spanner into the works of what we are trying to achieve.

He is a rough diamond and that’s part of the reason I was so pissed off we gave him 21 games last year. You don’t develop a young worker by rewarding them unnecessarily.
He is struggling and it looks like the coaching staff are not helping him.
At the bare minimum I hope they spend the week with Luai running the show and Galvin injecting himself only when required.
BTW, my success criteria is not only wins, but it is an obvious factor to look at.

Yeah, his youthful enthusiasm needs to be encouraged but also managed.

Bud was flat out shit last year, and Sezer kept hip dropping, so Galvin had to play. Too early no doubt.

I think Api & Luai will show up this week.

The media stuff came from here. One of the members found a post from a fan of his from Parra and he liked it. It all really has snowballed from there & people are speculating & trying to connect dots for no reason when we have a game come coming up, I swear we do this to ourselves most of the time smh...
Im wondering why someone here doesn't try the same thing from our angle... An on your knees begging pleading pathetic post designed to get that oh so important and in demand 👍

It would not be as gut wrenching as losing Tedesco. Not when we have Luai. Galvin wasn’t even on people’s brains when we signed Luai.

Just thinking of something to ponder- WT let Large brothers go after being subject to unreasonable demands / expectations from both parents and manager, without having earnt it. Im noting Galvin is in the same sort of situation with parental demands / expectations along with manager egging things on. May well be Galvin will be let go if the demands on club reach unsustainable levels vs what has been delivered. I only ask if we do let him go early (and not end of contract) we do get a player trade in the position we need. We are fortunate we have Latu in the wings at present I would hate to loose both Latu and Galvin with us pandering to Galvin, and Latu goes, then Galvin gives us the finger too.
