Galvin given a rest as the club tries to keep him at Concord with a fresh deal. - SMH piece.

Not excusable.
He is a big part of the problem with our attack.
Show some humility, learn and grow.
Understand the sentiment, but the kid has a lot of people in his ear. Players, parents, managers, the club...add 9 losses in a row and having to play with a hand fracture and you probably don't have the mental resilience at that age to deal with it as well as the more experienced guys like Api.

Look at his efficiency. Nearly all of them.
Dragons = 25/28
Bye
Cowboys = 28/31
Dolphins = 23/25
I would say that is pretty good for a kid that just got out of school playing in the toughest rugby league competition in the world.

Not like being a kid playing in the halves that he wouldn't be targeted as well, so damn good figures overall.

Not like I have any inside information, but I would imagine that it is pretty common for players in the NRL to play with a few niggles and even get needled up to get through a game, just part of the occupation you would think.

Anyone ever look to see how much support and strapping these guys have on when you see the dressing room shots, would suggest to me that just about all the players have minor injuries and niggles that they need a little help with to protect them and get them through a game.

It's not tiddly winks that they are playing.

Funny how things turn out. As far as junior talent around Lachlan's age goes, he was probably well down the pecking order. Guys like Latu, Strange, Miller, TDS and Kit Laulilii all seemed to have more noise about them.

I'm sure Miller, Kit, TDS and even Alex Isdale and Mason seemed to have the greatest influence on that Harold Matthews team. Galvin parked himself on the left and played his role but wasn't the standout. Correct me if mim wrong

I have no idea about how any of these guys played in the juniors …

There were a lot of reports during this last offseason training that Galvin was the fittest guy at the club …. Maybe he just worked his ass off to get better over the offseason and overtook a lot of those guys you mentioned …

Not sure if this works buts I couldn't say this any better.
It was Joey Johns saying to Lachlan and to paraphrase " can you imagine if you are part of the group of players that turns around the club... that is your legacy"
That was great from Joey.

What we should do is hire Joey to come in and coach him in the halves, assuming Galvin agrees to a long term deal.

Isdale wasn't in that team

Nuh his extension will not come cheap, probably near the 500-600k for next season and increasing based on performance objectives.

You can safely assume he will be on 800k+ if he plays SOO or for his country.
no way he is on 5-600 next year.
In fact i would say whatever he got an upgrade for will nor kick in until 2026 when we have more space in the cap.

So in June last year Richo said the WT would extend Galvin beyond 2026 if he(Galvin) drops his demands for a release….

so here we are 9 months later and no deal….why…?.?…im sure it’s not because the WT have dropped their interest in striking a deal…we are now hearing the WT are preparing a long term multi-million dollar deal to keep Galvin beyond 2026 and take him off market before Nov 1…

We all know how this will play out, if Galvin accepts the deal he stays and is our long term 6. If he rejects signing with the WT, he clearly wants out and should be dropped from being our 6 for the rest of 2025/6 and we bring Latu in. The Dogs or Roosters will be favourites to nab him but don’t discount the Slimy Eels….itll be a 3 horse race…The Tigers should make it clear they will only release Galvin from his 2026 obligations if the WT get a like for like replacement…keeping Galvin around in 2026 will not be in our best interests nor value..

My personal view is Galvin won’t stay..real shame and I hope I’m wrong, but knowing how Issac Moses operates and his perception of our club suggests to me Galvin is as good as gone..

Seeing what Dylan Brown got probably got him thinking...
The other thing that I think players don’t think about is that if they take huge money it makes it much harder for them to build a good squad around them.

I personally think that he’ll sign with us for another 2-3 years then go for a big money deal after that - possibly with us, possibly with someone else.

If he really wants the $$$$ should move to PNG in 2028 …get $1m tax free plus at age 23… not bad at all…

Unless there are some limits to what he would do to chase dollars?

Clearly eh?

Maybe he just would wanna see what else is on offer,?
