, hmmm trying to think of contingencies should Skelton get ruled out midweek...

Faataape to centre, To'a to the sting?
Faataape straight onto the wing?
Bird to centre, Doueihi to the sting, Kit to the bench?

anything else?
I think that's about all of the combinations. The physios must be pretty confident they will have Skelton ready. I must say, it looked like he would be out for at least a couple of weeks the way he was hobbling.

You don't see many hamstring injuries playing the next week that's for sure.

Can you get a cork on a hamstring?

Any other kind of hamstring injury is not a 1 week return. Very odd having no winger on the extended bench.
I'm no physio, but as I understand it Hammy injuries are typically classified as:

Grade 1 (Mild Strain): Minor overstretching or micro-tears in the muscle fibers. Symptoms include mild discomfort and tightness, but no significant loss of strength or mobility. Recovery can take a few days to a week with rest, physiotherapy, and proper management.
Grade 2 (Moderate Strain): Partial muscle tear with more noticeable pain, swelling, and some loss of function. Recovery usually takes 2–6 weeks, making a 7-day return impossible.
Grade 3 (Severe Tear or Rupture): Complete tear of the muscle, leading to severe pain, swelling, and an inability to use the leg properly. Recovery typically requires months and sometimes surgery.

If Skelton is returning within a week, his injury was likely a very low grade strain that was possibly prevented from getting worse because he came straight from the filed. I can only think that it was caused when he hit the ground as opposed to stretching out while running as they are usualy Grade 2 strains.

Even with a grade 1 I doubt he will be training until late in the week and they must have a plan in place in case he doesn't come good.

OK who can get down to training and have a squiz at who is training in his place?

I trust that we aren't going to bring him back too early and risk it going from a grade 1 to a grade 2.

Benji mentioned in the presser that he liked what AD did on the sting. He had some strong carries and looked safe. Reminds me a little of the Rooster Tupou.

Faatape has handled first grade pretty well, particularly centre.

I think that option is firming.

Next 4
Warriors at home I expect win
Broncos at Suncorp I expect close loss
Knights at Newcastle I expect win
Parra at Commbank I expect big win
After Rd 7 expect 5-2 win loss record
If we avoid serious injuries to our stars im convinced we make the 8
Problem is depth ! Lose a few stars then replacements not in same level

Obviously this week is the focus, but I watched Broncos V cowboys and they aren’t unbeatable. If they lose Reynolds they will struggle…or Haas for that matter.

The Tigers have got half a new team …they are still learning to play together in attack…they should continue to improve…

There are reasons to have some optimism if they can maintain their on field discipline …. When they were slack with this last year ( most weeks) it killed them… gotta keep it 13 v 13 ….

also running back as many of these 17 every week will help ….i don’t love the look of that extended bench ..

I gotta admit …. I’m not overly keen on Faataape …. Although I’m sure he gives his best each time he is out there ,,,,,( unlike plenty of others over the years)

Am I right in saying that Richo still hasnt committed to giving him a Top 30 deal ? I think you can read something into that after 20 NRL games at the Tigers
