I meant upgrade on Lobb and Feledy?not to the top 30, no, but if they perform then there's spots on the development roster that are available.
Lobb might get the opportunity to stay around, but he doesn't have what it takes to play grade. at this stage I think it's unlikely.I meant upgrade on Lobb and Feledy?
Feledy has a knack of finding the line, but so does his opponent.
I personally think the Tigers have single handedly ruined Matamua's development. He is a solid player but why on earth is he playing Ron Massey. He hasn't been given the opportunity to play like others have.Lobb might get the opportunity to stay around, but he doesn't have what it takes to play grade. at this stage I think it's unlikely.
I can't see them keeping Feledy. I'd be extremely surprised if they aren't trying to find him a club now.
Feledy, Tumeth, Matamua and Saukuru are currently stealing a living. thanks Sheensy.

Lobb is a decent NSW Cup player and obviously very good trainer by the regard he's held at the club but for '26 & beyond I hope the best we offer is a Magpies contract.Lobb might get the opportunity to stay around, but he doesn't have what it takes to play grade. at this stage I think it's unlikely.

I don't disagree. we blooded him far too early and he never understood what it took to be dominant thru the middle. that said, he's had extended periods in grade and never truly put it together. both parties are to blame.I personally think the Tigers have single handedly ruined Matamua's development. I agree on all counts. really hope Juz can find the tools he needs to be a first grader elsewhere. Solo is really classy but doesn't possess the lateral movement required against men. I think it's probably time for a backrow transition.Lobb is a decent NSW Cup player and obviously very good trainer by the regard he's held at the club but for '26 & beyond I hope the best we offer is a Magpies contract.
Feledy just doesn't have enough arrows for his bow IMO. Good at yardage when taking the 2nd hitup or dummy half run from a kick & can find the line from close range but again just seems Cup level at best. If he can develop a lot more power in his legs to be an explosive tackle-breaker, he may have a future at another club.
Matamua lacks mongrel in aggression & effort plays, I just wonder whether he has mentally checked out. Hope not and hope another club can continue to develop him for his sake.
Saukuru seems to be an application thing. Is a physical specimen & has the skills. I've seen a couple of things in Flegg of late that gives me hope particularly aggression in defence, just needs to find that inner hunger to do the 1%ers in & out of training to become an NRL player.
I am excited to see how Max Taotua & Tino Tavana progress this season out of our other fringe outside backs in Cup/Flegg. And the forgotten man, Cameron Kanaan when he returns.
Tavana has really progressed this past off+pre-season, put on a bit of size & come back with better contact in defence too. Very elusive, good acceleration, good hands and amazing in the air. We'd be having Zac Lomax vibes with Tino at right centre or wing!!!I agree on all counts. really hope Juz can find the tools he needs to be a first grader elsewhere. Taotua showed last year that he should be prioritised by the club and I hope he builds on his performance last week. Tavana has X-Factor in spades. I'd kill to see him developed at right centre. I'll be surprised if he doesn't do a preseason next year with the NRL side.
The only person who ruined Matamua development is Matamua . He has been given every opportunity to excel . Opportunities other players can only dream about .I personally think the Tigers have single handedly ruined Matamua's development. He is a solid player but why on earth is he playing Ron Massey. The good young players don't miss an opportunity when given a chance at 1st grade they take it and don't look back, beginning to wonder if he falls into that high percentage that don't make it.The only person who ruined Matamua development is Matamua . He might succeed . But he needs to get stronger and learn to fight through contact .
He has all the tools , it’s up to him .
If we can win a premiership in the next 2 years than that will be a yes for me !! 🤗😉Is God also known as Richo ?
It happens man! He’s got the talent , it sometimes the dominant kid in juniors struggles at the next level because everyone there was the dominant kid as a junior .The good young players don't miss an opportunity when given a chance at 1st grade they take it and don't look back, beginning to wonder if he falls into that high percentage that don't make it.
Big wrap, Tavana looked impressive in the trial, but also very slight of frame, he looked a bit like Bula did in his first trail game, not over awed by the step up but still a kid and still very raw.Tavana has really progressed this past off+pre-season, put on a bit of size & come back with better contact in defence too. Possibly sent to see a psychologist or sport psychologist by the club. Iv heard of other clubs doing that and if they sign the player the contract is contingent on the player going a set amount of time per year, fortnightly, monthly. If the club threw that out there he may have just refused. No idea if that's what it is, though iv heard of it happening with "troubled" players clubs may be worried to sign.Don't think physical when I say process. Nothing to do with his playing ability, or physical fitness. Think of things the club may have wanted to do outside of that where info is involved.
And this was set up before the case was ended.
On form shown playing at senior level in their careers so far, Thompson is far superior to Saukuru and Mapapalangi is far superior to Feledy. Are those two players a definite upgrade are they?
Mapapalangi was supposed to be the next big thing but alot injuries hopefully he is past that nowAre those two players a definite upgrade are they?
But it almost says there will be no MAY signed, I wish the club would end this saga, if he’s not been signed, just come out and tell us fansclub's done well with the Mapapalangi and Tu'itupou signings. both are big bodies with speed and strength that are an improvement on our current stocks below first grade. means we won't be relying on Feledy and Lobb should injuries persist.
i disagree , he had chances last year and didn’t look anywhere near 1st grade standard, i guess he now is not up to nsw cup standardI personally think the Tigers have single handedly ruined Matamua's development.
