LIVE GAME Round 5 v Broncos

Live Game Discussion
We're in for a weird season I think. No idea if we come 7th or 15th. Think the whole club has lost the habit of winning and we are slowly figuring out we don't suck.
We are scoring tries when in the opposition 20.
That hasn’t happened for many years.
That try we scored from the drop out is classic Tigers attack. We need more of it. There’s a lot of guys in this squad with above average ball skills.
That said, our defence is untrustworthy…it can be brilliant and resolute then turn to water.
Huge work in progress.

My take aways from tonight’s game;
Orange jersey looks great
Benji’s rotation of players is unpredictable (I like)
Tony Sukkar is a hidden gem
Kicking early in the sets works
Benji looked very angry on the sideline during the last 20* minutes of the game remaining (I liked)
Biggest take away, refs decide… tiges were never a chance tonight 😔
very well said and agree with all your points

I wouldn’t say great game. His effort on that first try after halftime was very ordinary. All up though, did his job.
I wouldn’t say very ordinary. The decoy was worked well and was left one on one with a player that half our team couldn’t stop from dummy half before halftime

Fair points Tucker, but compared to 12 months ago, i think the future is ok

Benji looks shattered.

Im not a knocker but can you honestly say he had a good second half? i thought Adam when he went to half back did a good job.. Even before the game i honeslty dont believe he is worth a milllion a year
The whole team sucked in the second half but let's keep blaming Galvin.

I couldn't give a shit what he or anyone is worth that has nothing to do with me!!!

Yeah yeah everyone is entitled to their opinion.

That was a full strength broncos team with rep players everywhere.
We have 3 young spine players and considering a few bad calls we did ok and will learn from it. If we played most teams tonight, I think we would have won.

Need to put Galvin on a deadline to make a call as I would have no problems have Laui and AD / Latu in the halves. Sorry but Galvin is nowhere near a million-dollar player. Need to a strike centre / 2nd rower ASAP.

Tonight’s game will give us supporters a real insight into where the Tigers are at this year… the Broncos have power and speed all over the park… if we can compete with them and not get flogged on the scoreboard I’ll be happy (but not confident right now)…
My take out from tonights game...we are still a bottom 4 team..Once again we start the new season on fire only to put in poor performances and come quickly back to the field. To think we led the league in 2025 by being 1st in D at some point, here we are in week 5 and the opposition put 46 on us!!.

Yes, we have some new players and that is the only difference between this year and the previous 4 (hash maybe). We still have very poor lapses in concentration which the opposition pile on points fast...This is a regular occurance the past 4 years and sadly it appears to still be in our game for 2025.

We are kidding ourselves if anyone thinks we can compete for the 8 this year. We will compete to avoid the spoon and we probably wont win the spoon this year, but I seriosuly can't see us finishing higher than 14th. Benji and Richo have alot of work in front of them to make us a top 8 side!..

I can't see us beating Newcastle at home nor an upbeat Eels team at Commbank the week after..

One more...watch Galvin check out for the year by round 14, he is young , hates loosing and can't handle it...(dont blame him) .I can already see alot of frustration creeping into his game and his body language..

Nah...I look at the outcomes..and the underlying reasons
Benji prizes having 4 x 19 yos in the team.but truth is the seasoned hard heads whom we cld have really used upfront tonite wont play for him and left during the off season
The younger players arent getting any better
..and the 4th ranked half we lent to Souths is instantly improved under Bennett
Much improved roster, but Just not seeing any reindeers atm ...!
There is no development happening at this club and it is the main problem.

If Galvin, Da Silva, Laulili and others leave I guarantee you they will flourish!!

Onitoni Large is so bloody happy he left this club!!

Yeh really hoping we get on a roll for a few games to make up for the winnable games weve dropped, potential is there but also potential depression for supporters

Can't believe we let Large walk. With all the uncertainty around Galvin
Gps sprinter..we cld have fitted him anywhere in the backline

Really, no development, we are playing an 18 year old and 2 nineteen year olds out there tonight and Sukkar is 20, not sure where you are going there?

I don't see us as a bottom 4 team, but maybe a bottom 4 squad at the moment with 2 holes to fill. A fit top 17 can compete each week, whereas we struggle to fill more than a spot or two when any 1-17 are missing.

Not sure I can cop much more of Bula. His positional play and attitude to defence leaves a lot to be desired. I'd say he is up there in with the worst in the comp.

It cost us the game last week him being on the other side of the field when the break occurred and tonight when the game was in the balance he was out of position on a couple of key occasions again.

Surely if we have top 8 aspirations we need to do better at fullback.
I don't agree at all, but it was interesting in the press conference that Reynolds said when talking about the chip kick that they had looked at Bula during the week and were planning the chip to catch him out. Obviously they're seeing something similar to your frustrations.
