OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I get the impression, despite the innocent facade, that Galvin is the absolute epitome of arrogance. I'd be amazed if there's any way his teammates can respect this decision. I certainly can't.

In saying that, I'm glad we have Latu and I do believe he will fit better with Luai and the club's values. Just need the poor sod to stop getting injured.

Can we get some clarification that the words out of his mouth is that he will not play for the tigers beyond 2026?

Or could his management have said this and it doesn't reflect Lachlan's position?

To be honest when the team wins and he's been celebrating he doesn't look as enthusiastic as the others
The club has shut down the opportunity for his manager to use WTs as stalking horse.

Wow. Although not unexpected, still a shock.

Brightside, I think Latu is a gun and may actually suit Luai's game better. Galvin and Luai play a similar style of probing, jinking around while Latu plays straighter and could be a good foil to Luai.

Also, our cap is in a good place. Keeping Galvin on $250k this year and $350k next means we can go to market for an elite backrower and more.

I think Sullivan stays at Souths on a new contract so may be off our books entirely next year and we can re-sign Doueihi who can play in the halves as back-up to Latu in 2027. Plus some young kids coming through. Far cheaper than having 2 million dollar halves.

My hunch is we will stick with Galvin for this year then transition to Latu as first option next year. I also feel Taylan May will sign for next year (on under) after he has sorted his mental health journey. Our cap/squad balance in 2026 is going to be stronger whilst also being Galvin's last year so they may want to send him out on a high.

Or maybe I'm just trying to see a brightside in what is obviously a s#!t sandwich.

I might be the only one, but it really doesn't bother me. He is not worth over a mil and watching all the club videos and T May's Vlog he just doesn't seem to want to be involved as much as the others imo.

He is a good player but IF he wanted to be here, he would have already extended and upgraded.

I love the club's statement and back them doing this so now we focus on what's best for OUR club. He clearly has another club that have advised him of an offer as you don't walk away from like 5 mil for nothing. Not a fan of his agent like most.

As soon at Latu is fit Galvin goes to bench or reserves as no point putting more development into a player leaving.
If we had the depth in the centres now, I would move AD to halves with Laui but the club won't do this.

This opens the salary cap quite a bit so would love to see AD and TDS extended plus upgrade and extend Bula.
I think he's probably worth a million but not more. And he needs to want to be here.

Tigers 2025 are showing without a doubt that having focussed players who want to be here results in much much better performances. Look at the way guys like Bula and Twal are playing this year, compared to the previous few seasons, being alongside fit and committed players who we have brought in.

Galvin's definitely got something, even if he overplays his hand, but he has to want to be here. Tigers have had 10 years of paying people who just want to collect a cheque and it never works out. You need to care about the club and your team-mates.

Was always gonna happen with IMoses
Already has a deal in his back pocket with Dogs eels or Roosters for 27
We don't need him next year if his new club wants to pay out his contract or swap
Lastly,he's not a Tedesco generational player..he's simply too slow.Too easy to pick off if he makes a half break and isn't allowed to get his arms free

I would think Richo might even say you can neg for other clubs early on 2 points:

1. He finds a club and we would out a player swap, so we get something from it
2. We do this early before Nov and there will be more players to choose in the swap deal.

Or we just keep him for 2026 on the cheap anyway.

Assumption. Perhaps he's a bit shy and awkward in these scenarios.

Decisive. It says loud and clear publicly that the club will move on, and plan accordingly. So any selection decisions from here on have a foundation, even if his mum and dad or Moses reconsider.

I'm reading a bit of this. Latu can't play out one 80 min game, let alone think about a career at the moment.
I would have no problems with AD in the halves with Laui.

I get people are saying it’s all about money but apparently he didn’t even look at the offer & id say no club will out bid either. Has there been any rumours that he doesn’t get along with the playing group or coaches? That’s what I’d think straight away considering the statement said ‘weren’t willing to review the offer’

Either way disappointing, no loyalty these days

Little diva needs to be dumped to reggies immediately. The Tigers have zero interest in developing this over rated squirrel for their direct future competition.

6. Jerry 7. Latu. Everybody and their dog knows that was the best half combo at the start of the season.

Let him and his parents carry his ego in reserves.

Then we are just bending over to Moses.

If it's a game of chess, then putting him in KOE for the next two seasons will shift the power dynamic in our favour. We accept he's gone and focus elsewhere, whilst no longer investing in his development.

Sounds like his old man is a bit greedy too.

I wonder whether team Galvin will claim that he was open to a contract extension and merely wanted to test his value on the open market? Isaiah Papalii played a similar card last year, intimating that he signed with Penrith after being informed that he wasn't in the Tigers' long-term plans when it was obvious that he wanted out. In Galvin's case, he has made his position clear that he doesn't want to stick around through his multiple requests for a release.

A comment I read & remember from a while ago, I cannot remember who wrote it... so credit to them, but it was along the lines of;

I think Luai already knows Latu is the far better player and is just baby sitting Galvin for now until Latu gets his chance.

Next move is the best move.
Can't wait till Latu is healthy.
He has shown A LOT in his few games he's played and having all three brothers in the 17 is something that will benefit us immensely.

I have thought his body language during 2 of the post game songs, he doesn't seem as involved as the rest of them.
I also saw May say something about Galvin being the weirdest bloke he knows (it might have been tongue in cheek, but it fits my narrative atm haha).
