OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

None of them are a prospect like Galvin with a long rep career ahead. You don’t let him walk for free.
It’s not about the prospect he is. It’s about the $$$ they are on. Ice was on 600k. It’s hard to play hardball with a kid on minimum wage, regardless of his ability.

I wonder how Galvin is feeling now?
I reckon he'd be thinking "I'll get a release now the boys don't want me here" Please Tigers don't back down on this! Make him see out his contract!
Would be nice to see him spend the next season and a half in reserve grade, but it won’t happen. Might happen for the rest of the year, but that’s it. He’ll be gone in 26.

Punish him. Privileged kid still living at home gifted the keys to the club for as many years as he wants and still not enough. Send him to his room without dinner.

He should be forced to play in reggies with zero development on his game for 2 years.

This gives us more bargaining power that he’s on minimum wage.

The reason the club didn’t push for a trade as strongly with the players above was because they prioritised clearing cap space immediately over forcing a trade etc.

Whoever signs Galvin is going to want him asap due to his youth and the 7 position. They’d want him in the system early so they can speed up the transition.

Clubs will offer trades, however if we aren’t comfortable with what’s coming back I’m sure the club will be happy to keep him in reserve grade as our backup half.

Why should we be forced to compensate and move him on, he’s on minimum wage and as a club we benefit having him on standby as a backup until 2027.

He made his bed. He can lay in it.

The narrative is all going in our favour. This kid is in for a hell of a time over the next few months. Hope his dad and agent are happy.

I have no doubt in my mind that a Luai/Fainu combo will have our attack much more consistent and threatening.
The club statement was perfect, we’re not releasing him and he doesn’t want us to.

When you start getting all emo about it you lose your leverage.

Today is playing out exactly how Moses would want it.

100%. While the senior players' loyalty to Benji is admirable, demanding Galvin's removal will help Galvin to agitate for a release on mental health grounds. We should have dropped him but made it out like we were doing it out of concern for his welfare.

I can think of no other coach in the NRL that would have backed him like Benji has maybe Kevin Walters he backed up a few young guys at the Broncos but nowhere near what Benji has done

Benji must feel so betrayed stabbed in the back and for what believing in young talent
