OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Very poor from Tito.

We've won the media battle, move on now.

Its good to use the hatred internally but nothing public from now on. Stop it and move on.

We need to write down that we don't condone the message Turuva has done and we will continue to provide Galvin with whatever assistance he needs.

Galvin is still a Tiger, he's a dick but he's still here. Can't be having a go at him publicly.

The whole narrative will switch from Tigers stand their ground to young players gets picked on by the entire club, players are running the team,.player power is too much etc.

Just stop all this now. Joint statement saying Galvin backs the coach, Tigers back Galvin. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, both parties need to stop it and move on now...

I laughed at his pathetic public statement. Is his manager so tone deaf that he thought it'd work?
Tallis said it sounded like it was A.I. generated.
I don't think it's A.I genetated. I believe that his managment have written it, there are a few grammatical errors purposefully written in to give the illusion that it's come from the 19 year old. The length of the statement is the dead give away.

Tone deaf management indeed.

Ive been quite annoyed with him the last two games, couldnt quite put my finger on it...probably him reverting back to his playing for hisself attitude we saw in the trials rather than playing as part of a team.
I posted in the Knights Live game thread Benji should hook him....expected crap for that but no replies I think
His ego is out of control ...we could see he knew the cameras were on him in the shed when TDS brushed him, at the warriors game he was on the field clowning around at half time in reggies but kept looking up at the main stand I think to see if people were looking at him ( I just put that down to youthful immaturity) but people with the look at me, clowns in cars with bucket exhausts and their (can you hear me) irk me a bit.

Its an extremely rapid and sudden fall from grace for one so you and immature (mature on the field yeah but obviously still immature in other areas - understanderble at 19)
I dont think Ive ever seen anything like it in the game before.
SBW scurrying off to Frech Rugby? in the middle of the night??

I hope the media give him a break, I hope Benji tells the squad to put him out of their minds and focus on Mondays game, I hope admin at the club keep a close eye on LG and offer support if he feels he needs it though Id say camp Galvin seem to know whats best, or think they do. Its gunna hit him square in the face come Monday at Lidcombe against Parras reggies

Still not condoning what he did, and I think his and his fathers response was total BS and the shamelessness that they totally lifted DCE’s reasoning and used it for themselves was pathetic. However, at least he’s told us early and not strung us along for 18 months like Teddy, Woods and Moses did. Still a dog act to be so ungrateful to the club though.

What a pity the club has taken this stance at this time.. The team is on a roll and then this controversy regarding Galvin comes up, couldn't it have waited till Nov 1st. We should have known how this would go, it's just a complete disruption to the team club and fans.
And surely it's not up to the term to decide his fate (whether he's in or out) once again are we letting the team run the show !
I am really quite upset that Galvin wants to leave , but if he doesn't want to be here we have no choice but to let him go...
Unfortunately I don't think we could afford to wait until 1 Nov as we needed to prioritise the developemt of either him or Latu. He led to his own demise by deciding to test the market. Had he been respectful in the way he did that I think it would have been the end of the story. There are plenty of models for how to make the call - and one of the best was his halves partner and mentor.

Romey did exactly the same thing at Penrith; however, approached it in a professional and respectful manner. Even though footy is now a professional sport and more of about business than club loyalty - when you are part of a team your team mates expect loyalty to them for the duration of your contract. They are the ones in the trenches with you.

A player losing the trust of the playing group is pretty unusual and when that happens the player needs to be cut out as the animosity and disharmony affect performance. From the reaction of the players this is not a one off - he has been on the outer in the playing group for a while.

He didn't tell us early of his own accord. We forced his hand. He would have strung us along if he was able to. Credit to Richo for bringing this to a head.

No point beating up on a 19 year old kid. Some people are just wired and/or raised how they are hope we can just leave it there. Reading between the lines of the statement, somehow Galvin has figured out he doesnt have a mortgage on the 6, the team/club also want Latu to do well. Probably has been told by his inner circle that he is better than Latu all through his junior career when he wasnt getting the 6. Lots of kids and parents would have a dummy spit in private about this, rightly or wrongly, being an NRL player doesnt make you mature or a philosopher.

I think we have the moral victory now we need the on field victories or the Galvin camp gets the last laugh.

Some mates that are parra fans now think that the longer this drags on, the worse it will make the Tigers administration look, big in my opinion they have the upper hand. They could drag it out as long as it takes to get a good deal.

The weirdest thing too is that Luai and Benji regularly said “we’re here to support him”. He didn’t want that support because he knows better.

Nope.
That public statement would be a ridiculous farce. We'd be mocked.
Players should all be told to be polite to Galvin, but the club should never mention his name in public.
We smile, we're cordial, we give no ammunition for legal shenanigans.

So because of a couple of barely mean social media messages, you want to rollover and release a joint statement (which everyone would know is a lie btw) saying we support the player after the player in question in bagged out the coach (and the club by extension) in one of the most disrespectful way possible? Unbelievable.

Every day, I thank the gods that we have a real leader like Richo in charge and not some weak pushover like you who would want to do something as pathetic as release a joint statement. Let me guess we should also just release early him to go to his new club?

Interesting - I don't think it reflects poorly on us at all. The talking heads on 360 last night were even saying that there is a lot of chatter/support coming from other clubs in the comp that they want us to hold firm and take a stand. Presumably they recognise a similar situation could happen to them.

I agree but not so much out of concern for Galvin. The point has been made beautifully and with strength by the club and the players who've come out in support of the club. But if there's any more we risk losing public opinion and giving Moses exactly what he wants i.e the mental health card.

Now that the dust has settled the Tigers should give him permission to talk to rival clubs and negotiate a player swap. Proviso rep player with difference in salary paid by new club.

Galvin moves on the same money until 2027 season. Tigers get a rep player for this season and next in 300k. Win/win situation.

Given some of the posts being made about Galvin by our Penrith connection - it puts Tallyn in a difficult position. I’m sure he’s feeling for his old mate Lachie and all the hate he’s copping - yet he’d also want to be seen as a “team first” guy.
I think he thinks galvins a dog
He was offered 6 million to lead a team with his bros at age 19 and came out indirectly saying the coach is sh1t.
It will make TDS stronger and he will form a better bond with the wider group who will bring him under their wing.

I agree, I don't care much for Galvin and I'm sure he'll have a successful career elsewhere.

However, we have had way too many messy break-ups and we need to end this whole thing as quickly as possible. The best way to do that is "showing" that we care about Galvin, he's in our plans for the next year and a half.

Tito's post is unacceptable. Even if we don't publicly condone his post, we need to at least say that this has been dealt with internally.

Dragging this out isn't good for anyone.

That will happen.

But we need to make it look like he's still in our plans and we can ask for whatever $$ or player we want from the other team.

We showed our hand early with Bateman and told everyone we don't want him. We lost all our bargaining power by then.

We already showed strength and already congratulated Richo for it. We are on top of this narrative so far, but the media will write articles to balance it out and we need to shut it all down before it gets there.

Richo & Benji will shut this down as of today. I doubt Api & Jarome will address this in the match preview presser tomorrow aside from generic 'we are all together' etc etc.

I can't see Moses running his usual media campaign to badmouth the Tigers from now on either. Richo will tell him, you want any chance of Galvin being released early, the leaking stops now.

Having Richo as our leader will ensure dealings are done professionally with Moses (given both parties have to have a relationship with eachother) but rest assured Galvin will not being going anywhere without the Wests Tigers obtaining something massive in return.
