FOX NEWS 500 - Press Conference 11:45am

To say that LG can return to first grade .

saying otherwise triggers a cause for a release .
Yes.
This wasn’t about answering all questions with ā€œraw honestyā€.
It was about killing the narrative that the kid is going to be discriminated against, bullied, ostracised etc. the avenue for a forced release due to compassionate grounds resulting from mental health issues had to be closed.
I think he lost sight of that a bit towards the end,

No...unnecessary

Anyway you'd need to be on mars to miss it
100% just figure it's the biggest story in the game atm and the club said that Benji, Api and Luai would be talking about it and taking questions, just thought there would be someone from our media team there to film aswell and just upload it to the website straight away, I had no idea where it was so just went straight to the sight but nothing was there. Your right though it would generate coverage everywhere, my thinking was as a bottom covering exercise, the bullying questions and sensitive stuff like that, the way the media have treated us up to the present was thinking it could be so easy to twist answers and things out of context to suit the Moses narrative, though Benji, Luai and Api did an amazing job. Benji particularly imo couldn't have done it better, I cannot see how Moses could do anything to twist the narrative now.

How so Tucker ?
At first we had the sympathy of most as an arrogant 19 year old was talking shit about his coach and leaving the club who gave him his start. His press statement didn’t help as it seemed again that he only cared about himself…however the social media pile ons started to change the narrative somewhat.
Some suggested he was being bullied. Others that he didn’t fit in with the ā€˜bra’ culture of the islanders. Others still started really thinking about it and have suggested that a 19 year old with 30 NRL games under the belt does not knock back a $6 million offer…actually doesn’t even read it, unless there are massive issues still at the club.
We sit in a bubble here but look outside of it and you’ll see plenty of influential people turning on the club.
The kid has been here 3 years and whatever he has seen, he wants no part of it. He has tried to leave several times. He was biding his time until Nov but for some reason Richo backed him into a corner so he had to come clean. The kid can’t wait to leave. Unless he has something saying he can get well over a mill a year at another club, then that is pretty damning. He has stated he wants to be an elite player, SOO, Tests and Premierships…and he doesn’t want to try and do it through this joint even though he has received preferential treatment for a year and a half now with some big name talent added to the roster to help him.
He’d rather go to Parra who is behind us on their rebuild?
If many believe there’s something more to it than money than that narrative paints the club, not Galvin in a bad light.

Richo is desperately trying to hang onto his only bargaining chip he has in this situation. An asset that other clubs want-potentially early
Yeah it’s all we have. He has to move quickly though…the longer this drags on, especially if we flog Parra and he stays with the Maggies a bit longer, the more the narrative turns to ā€œPoor Lachieā€.

Saddest point in the press conference today was when Benji made reference to the talk that ā€œhe can’t coachā€ā€¦he sounded defeated at that comment
When a 19 year old doesn’t want to consider a 6 million dollar contract to stay and rebuild this club partly due to your work with him so far, that’s got to sting.
I feel sorry for Benji, but this was inevitable sooner or later.

How does it become poor Lachie if we flog the eels?

It’s the way he answered them that matters. He is still too transparent.
Think how a politician would supply info to questions they don’t want to answer. They have their talking points and they stick to them.
The message was ā€œwe aren’t bullying this kid, he is still a Tigerā€. That had to be repeated every way possible.
Transparency was needed in this situation I think.
Benji came off as a top bloke, great leader, praised Lachie and his family in the process, but backed his decision to drop him.
He honestly didn't put a foot wrong imo. There is no bad that came from that interview.

Braith said on his podcast that 90-95% of fans back the tigers. He engaged with fans on socials to get the feedback directly so he didn't have a foggy opinion on it.
I heard him say that. It was on Monday. A lot changes in 4 days.

No it wasn’t.
What was needed was a unified stance that Lachlan cannot sign anywhere else for 6 months and as such he is still a Tiger. We will be using him to make the finals this year. There is no bullying, he is not being punished.
His crew are playing for an early exit. Benji needed to shut that down. He did do that to a point but also went off course a bit.

Really? You think more than 50% are against the club?
Not yet but influencers (read ex players with podcasts and radio shows) are not saying poor Tigers anymore. Gould, Freddy, Danika Mason, James Graham, Thaiday, are ones I’ve heard pushing poor Lachie to a point. Willie Mason tore the Tigers to shreds today on his poddy.
