OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

So at a meeting with Sheens and Benji to “negotiate Galvins contract with the Tigers “…. He had concerns with “Marshall’s body language and disrespect of Sheens “ …

Yet the deal was still done … seems a bit odd to me that happened if it really concerned Moses

the problem is that we have seen these sort of firestorms surrounding the club before ..and it does affect the on field team performance …which is ultimately the only barometer as to who is “winning” the war …

TDS is crucial to this as well…they should be pulling out all stops to get him extended ASAP….so the media can’t use this as an angle

We know how this will ultimately end up …Galvin walking out and playing for another club … I don’t know if I want this crap going on for weeks let alone months before that happens …
I’m not sure the meeting was about Galvin’s comments where Benji apparently disrespected Sheens by his body language. The article said it was when they were trying to sign Mitchell Moses. I wonder if that talk at the time had Galvin looking for a release after just starting his nrl contract with us.

If you watch the recent Wade Graham comments about the whole Lachie Galvin saga, he makes more sense than anyone.
He states yes Isaac Moses is at fault in his actions and comments as his manager, but Richo by putting out the statement about Galvin leaving is not any better.
As Wade says all the discussions with Galvin should have been kept in house and if we remain in the too 8 as the season progresses we could have been in a much better position to again speak with Galvinlater in the season with him possibly changing his mind and wanting to stay.
All this has done as alienated him and turned all our fans against him, keeping in mind the vast majority of 19 years olds think, say and do stupid things, often things they regret if they are given enough time to think about it.
Everyone knows Isaac Moses is a master manipulator, but Richo’s actions have just fallen into his trap.
But you have to ask yourself. Does the kid really want to be a Tiger. That point that Graham is making would be true if he is in two minds about staying at his local club and building something as opposed to moving on.
But. Right now all the dialogue appears to be that even if Tigers were flying he doesn’t want to be there.
Remember the you do you I’ll do me comments. His teammates would have included TDS, the Lauillis, Craig, Mason and anyone else that he could build that legacy with.

I don’t find it haha funny. I find it weird funny.
Players come, players go. I’ve seen people say he betrayed us. You can’t be betrayed by someone who was never with you and this kid was only ever seeing this joint as a transit lounge. All things being equal, he likely never even debuts here if it wasn’t for management not releasing him and then promoting him above others.
So that brings us back to my point. Why does he hate it here so much?
Surely you know how much emotion and passion some peoples sporting teams give them.
Tattoos...ashes spread on home ground...i know a member here was married at LO...some will look at and feel what Galvins done the same way one might react to a spouse caught cheating...extreme? Maybe
The same reserved seats in the main stand at over $1k a pop...year after year...good on em..true fans...and if you're not with us your against us...which is what makes pro team sports great.

I think we all wish we knew the answer to your last question.
I wonder if its rep footy related and someone has suggested 'get out as soon as you can...WTs players dont make rep teams'

So let me get this right … Galvin had the opportunity to become a 1-club player & be the local junior who led the club to the promised land (that is what movies are made of). Instead he has set himself up to be the kid who had the world at his feet but was led astray by poor advisors and became one of the most unliked players by fans & players. Sad!
Maybe to him, Tigers are a blip on the radar, and despite being a local he sees himself as a Parra junior and wants to create a legacy there.
Remember the talk last year about lifting the club from the doldrums, well he may have an even greater challenge at Parramatta that he is looking forward to.

I have no legal expertise, so accept this may be totally illegal, but why can’t we release him immediately with a “ non compete” clause for the duration of his contract? Or allow him to play in Super League only for the duration?
This was also mentioned by Andrew Johns.
Prehaps we can offer up a loan option to the Super League for the remainder of this year and next year as an alternative to a release.

He knows opportunity in the nrl is short lived. This is his opportunity to get to Parra. If they can’t get him then the opportunity could close and that would make Galvin upset.
He has a contract to fulfill then he can go where ever his signature takes him all at the ripe old age of 21.

Personally I don’t think Richo is stupid enough to offer someone a contract who doesn’t want to be here. Believe me or don’t believe me I know you lay the boot into people who have mail on here but Richo & Benji were genuinely taken by surprise over what has occurred the last week. There were positive talks over the contract all pre season otherwise Richo wouldn’t have put together an offer in the first place. Something in the Galvin camp changed the last 3 weeks & I don’t know if somethings happened at training or maybe the Warriors & Broncos losses had something to do with it but Galvins camp went quiet & then all of this came out. Richo sensed something wasn’t right hence why the contract offer came.
I don’t think he is stupid either. Emotional, sure, that’s his weakness, but not dumb.
I too was surprised because I thought Richo had bought us time when he visited them last year. Galvin was publicly stating he would give it his all throughout his contract. I was under no illusions that he’d re-sign though. That seemed a step too far and he was very non committal when asked about it. All up though, I held faith that our strengthened roster and focus on attack would turn his head. The boys are playing better than I hoped they would and are very unlucky not to be 5 & 1…more reason to hope he’d be enticed.

So here is the thing. If he was having good talks all off season and seemed to be buying in, he is either an amazing poker player or someone has offered him a deal that makes Richo’s look like chicken feed in the last month. To not even negotiate with us, to try and do better…now saying he has kept a diary of grievances, hates what the coaching staff offer and is even getting bullied!. It just doesn’t add up. This is pre meditated.
This is why I said Moses has played this game smarter. I believe you that they were blindsided. Their reaction and that of the teammates lends itself to this conclusion.

Pre-meditated yes. From the time we denied his first release, Moses started scheming - seems like the right amount of time needed to build a dossier of complaints regarding the coach?

Galvin is just as stupid for going through with this plan. It makes him look so bad, particularly when you have a stones to pull a dossier of complaints about Benji Marshall...one of the greats of the game who happens to have played Galvins position. If nothing else, it's a pretty arrogant move from a kid.

Brown happened and created a desired spot
IMO it seems to have all started up again the moment the media talked about halves options for Parra following the Brown announcement. Brown didn’t just immediately agree and it was announced. The deal had been known through the pre-season. But I reckon the timing of it starting behind the scenes was the moment Mitch Moses renegotiated his contract.

It seems clear to me what to do with Galvin.
Sit him out for the next 18 months or whatever he's got left to go on his contract.
Don't play him anywhere in Wests Tigers or lower grade teams...why should he take another player's spot who's earnt it and wants to be here.
Between him and his manager they know what they are doing. All this crap he's only a kid. If your going to get paid a million dollars a season and play with the big boys you are no longer a kid.
If he's being bullied and has mental health issues even more reason not to play him.
If he wants a release then release him with a million dollar price tag other wise just sit him out for the remainder of his contract.
Can't act in bad faith. The RLPA will have him out of the club in an afternoon if Wests Tigers were seen to be behaving like that.

The Ryles love for Galvin is really poorly done by the eels. Actively discussing who your club wants to pursue undermines your own squad, suggests your head isn't into the day to day coaching and disrespects the other club. It's just totally unnecessary and gives the media too much. Benji always just says, 'we don't discuss recruitment'. Most do.

For those reasons, you don't see that sort of comment often. It makes me think that comment is also part of the Moses strategy, though I'm not sure how that benefits Galvin to publicly court Galvin like that. Perhaps it's just an attempt to relieve pressure of fans on him by signalling he has plans. Either way, it feels like a Justin Pascoe statement.

In my opinion we can’t let him go regardless of who they offer this season. If he goes this season it leaves us with Doueihi and Latu as the only options for the halves. And currently they are injury prone. Maybe next season when we also have bud back it’s an option. Why should we leave ourselves in a jam because of this entitled shite of a human?? We shouldn’t, unless it serves us.
I personally would not let him go until his contract is fulfilled to make an overdue point.

Moses relationship to the tigers reminds me of a chick who dumps you but she’s got borderline personality disorder .
Not only does she not want to be with you , but she wants you to fail , and never ever succeed again , and even though she’s the one who cheated on you , and has generally been horrible to you , she non stop causes shit around you in the periphery , like bagging you to distant acquaintances , on social media etc.
yet every now and then will send you a message at 2 in the morning , (because the latest guy she’s screwed over wants nothing to do with her) , telling you she misses you .
but you can’t block her number because she’s still in the friendship circle and you still might have to interact with her every now and then . So you’re stuck knowing this person who you wish would fall down a hole and never return haha
Sounds like every relationship I’ve ever been in !! 🤣😀😂. Are you saying this is not normal?? 🤔

The premeditation is galling part about it. Its a calculated move from a pretty clear playbook. Assuming there is nothing of real substance in there it really is shocking behaviour exploiting a system that is there to protect people from actual harm.
