OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Really for it to be bullying and unsafe Galvin's got to feel too uncomfortable to go to work. So presumably that's got to be the next step. Feels too scared to go to training, can't face going to the facility, accounts of PTSD and major anxiety etc. so I suppose we have to put him on indefinite leave until issues are resolved. That's what topine did, you can't really rock up to the facility smiling and enjoying training etc because bullying is really corrosive.

I assume, if arguments are being made that it is legitimate, then in that perspective he's just been masking his deep internal anxieties and again the club needs to put him on indefinite leave.

Indefinite leave just seems the only possible next step, I doubt he plays tomorrow.

How about you look at it through the context of discovering why a kid who had it all handed to him without earning it, is now blaming those who gave him such unbelievable opportunity for why he is leaving?

Only time will tell if it's the club or Galvin. We are all taking educated guesses at the moment, you have decided to go against the club and support Galvin, that's your right. Or at the very least your trying hard to paint the club in bad light. Maybe you believe that, maybe it's just for reactions on here. All I know is that we were all warned a long time ago about the Galvins and the history they have through the juniors. That history is repeating itself here. So my educated guess is that they are grubs and they have the grubbiest of managers which adds to the self righteous behaviour we are seeing.

so he is saying that he was excluded from “spine meetings “ … it seems ridiculous this would be the case …but if true this could be of some concern … compared with the social media stuff we know about
Yeah, there’s not much real substance to any of the claims of bullying that have been made public so far. Meetings between Api and Jarome could easily/deliberately be misconstrued to be a “spine” meeting when they’re actually meetings with the team co-captains. Anything can be exaggerated to try and make a claim. Looks like a scare tactic to force the club to the negotiating table to grant an early release. Big move by the Galvin’s, the club is well up for the fight and has deeper pockets than them.

I am pretty sure everyone's open to the context, but of what we know so far it sounds like he's a self entitled brat receiving horrible advice from a known toxic player agent and a stage dad who couldn't make it at Parra.

We also know of is that he was unhappy that multiple halves were signed when he was just 18 in SG ball.

We also know he's upset playing second fiddle to a 4 time premiership winner.

The context I understand paints a picture that's pretty clear to understand.

What do you think is going to be uncovered?
How much air time do you give a cancer (his manager) before cutting it out ?
Now that all this has blown up, I wouldn’t give him any airtime.
At the start of the week I would have let him hold court, and taken it all under advisement with a detail that we would respond to all points as soon as we could have. I don’t know what could have been uncovered and now the club doesn’t either until it appears on the back page every other day. Richardson is now in the position of being reactive as he doesn’t know what these guys have taken notes on. He doesn’t know what is coming next.
Possible net result? We not only lose a player with a big career in front of him, we lose him over a year and early and get nothing in return

I’m not supporting Galvin. I’m one of the very few on here that did not think he should have been given the reigns like he was. To me this was a ploy to sign him, reeking of desperation. It has now backfired.
I’m not necessarily kicking the club either. This whole thing may have been initiated by team Galvin behind the scenes but it was the club who blew it up publicly. That said, they have t been afforded a level playing field to re-sign him.

I’m on the side of the playing squad. They didn’t deserve this given the effort they’ve clearly put in this off season and now they are under pressure to perform because their side has been weakened due to a piss poor contract negotiation meeting Thursday week ago.

Question for any legal eagles, if the Galvin camp serve legal action, how expensive are the legal fees for both the applicant & defendant?

To me it seems a threat so the Club just go this will be too expensive to defend - it may cost more than what the Club can get with any player transfer fee. Isaac Moses playbook chapter 666.
These things always vary. My understanding is that the club doesn’t have huge resources. This would involve multiple legal angles so not an easy answer on costs. I see a bullying claim as a weak play. But I’m not advising the administration. A letter is just what it is. Nothing until someone files a claim. This is all angling and an attempt
undermine our position. I highly doubt Benji has overseen a bullying environment. Once that word was in the media and Galvin demoted and we made a strong stance, I can see why they would play that card. But it’s a game of poker. Remember there is lots going on behind closed doors and we can only speculate. Galvin filing a bullying claim would be very bad for him, especially if it was to be fought hard. FW is mostly a no cost jurisdiction - meaning that rarely is a complainant ever ordered to pay the costs of their employer - even if their claim is rubbish. In other words, no party here benefits from litigation, only lawyers. I’m no workplace relations expert, but have been around long enough to see the cards played. It doesn’t cost much to lodge a defense (if he is dumb enough to file something) and hold ground. The court and tribunal system is generally slow.

The "legal letter" would have outlined why it's an unsafe workplace... Richo would know.

Sorry @Tucker you are acting like you know what went on in the weeks, months, years before this and at the meeting itself and post. That’s ridiculous unless you have inside information. It’s all speculation, and backing the other side as smarter than ours is not warranted or needed. Till proven they placed the ace card, let’s focus on winning, and all this is noise, a letter. I hope we ignore it. Dumb legal letters should be given the air they deserve, none. Blaming Richo for the media beat up as if you would have altered reality is also a bit naive, again unless you are on the inside and privy to all discussions

Maybe

Yep. I'm not a Gynaecologist, but I know a c*** when I see one!!

Not at all. But I do find it pretty funny that those who were so furious last year whenever this kid was critiqued are now the loudest bashers of him.

Who would they be?

Disgraceful condemning a player who has basically given the finger to the club, coach, players and fans.

These people feel betrayed....weve been through hell for 15 years and a glimmer of hope comes along....fans get their hopes up only to be flipped the bird and you find it funny

Says it all
