Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Pretty desperately could use some depth at prop. If anyone goes down from our pack we'll be playing Sukkar again... hopefully they find a decent prop to sign who can just be depth
Don't need prop depth... Not sure why this keeps popping up. We have two props who can play 60+ minutes in Pole and May. Twal, Seyfarth, Hunt and Sione F can all play there and do a job. Worst case scenario IF 3 of those guys go down, even Kit can come onto the bench and give a 15-20 minute stint.

Backrow and lock much bigger needs atm.

I like Twaly at lock if we can get more dynamic at right side back row. Terrell May gives us creativity in the midfield.

Chooks are trying to clear some salary cap to sign DCE paul crawley said on 360. 1 million for 1 year.

We should try Sandon Smith to replace Galvin
If the Rooster get DCE, they will have Walker, Sandon Smith, Hugo Savala and a couple behind they all in the halves. Ripe for the picking to pick up a half off the Roosters.

Nope he is and always has been much better on an edge. Has played great this yr
Disagree, think hes much better off the bench in a middle role, covering edge if need be. Good work ethic, but he is still struggling a little with errors and discipline. He also struggles with run metres and post contact metres (lowest of our starting pack). All those should improve in a bench role with less fatigue.

A new starting right edge backrower with a bench of TDS/Latu, Hunt, Sione, Seyfarth/Bird would be a top 8 pack and bench.

* Fantasy talk *

Imagine if we DID sign him & he comes and returns to origin form.

It'd be like Terrell Davis May all over again.
Good player, unwanted by club for whatever reason, comes to Tigers and goes beast mode.

Quite the story.
Who does go beast mode here?

Api did, but Api was pretty first grade solid. Gareth Ellis, but we have imported 1-2 other poms and they fizzled... but British front rowers may work.

i can't really think of too many others who we went "good pick". Matterson from Easts though till he became a money hungry bastard.

At that price I'd be OK with Fifita. But the problem seems to be that Des didn't want him on the left edge and guess what - we have a guy who is doing OK there in Samuela F so square peg round hole I'm afraid. Unless he can play Left Centre? (kidding Sheensie)
Look...

Des Haslier is punting Fifita for someone big. DCE likely, perhaps Payne Haas or both.

500k D Fifita... I want to say yes, but we have that output question and the other problem of "hey you used to get 1m and now your getting half that and we want you to work harder...". ...

Pros:
Big unit,
Potential growth...

Cons:
Underperforming.
Were not good at building people like how Fifita is at the moment.
Motivation...

.. We don't need to solve Des's cap problem. If we sign Fifita, I would prefer 1-2 years tops. We need someone to take the hitups that May and others are taking. Were not the best club to bring Fifita back... KPP kinda suits us more.

He would still be getting a million

When i met kit last year, i got the impression hes more than desperate to break into the regular side.

A bit of grunt in his stature.

Another one of our "nice young men"

I hope that one day he can find a seat at the table.

What it May gets injured? Or plays origin and misses a game for us?

We lost Hunt against Parra and we virtually lost a player off the bench as Sukkar came in and wasn't used.

If we have any more than two injuries to our middle we have no one, that's my point. Kit is solid but he shouldn't be your first drop backup middle.

Get someone in who can come on the bench and play 20 minutes in the middle and it makes life a lot easier for us. Doesn't have to be a superstar

Another lock and second rower is the problem. Twal and Seyfarth would be the depth we need at prop. May, Pole, Hunt, S Fainu, Seyfarth, Twal is enough. We currently have no one to play edge back row of quality if S Fainu or Seyfarth go down. Bird can’t play 8@ to cover Twal.

Thing is, if we sign a second rower, it will be one who's good enough to take Seyfarths spot. Don't think we'll be able to do that for this season - hence why I want us to sign a prop just as a backup for now

If we get KPP for 2026 then yeah, Seyfarth can become a backup for edge and middle and we are okay. Same for lock, although to me it seems lik May is becoming our ball playing middle more than anyone

Let's see what the club comes up with. They've been very good at identifying our weaknesses and signing accordingly.

At a guess Reynolds would be cheaper for them I’d expect
