Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Another lock and second rower is the problem. Twal and Seyfarth would be the depth we need at prop. May, Pole, Hunt, S Fainu, Seyfarth, Twal is enough. We currently have no one to play edge back row of quality if S Fainu or Seyfarth go down. Bird can’t play 8@ to cover Twal.
Thing is, if we sign a second rower, it will be one who's good enough to take Seyfarths spot. Don't think we'll be able to do that for this season - hence why I want us to sign a prop just as a backup for now

If we get KPP for 2026 then yeah, Seyfarth can become a backup for edge and middle and we are okay. Same for lock, although to me it seems lik May is becoming our ball playing middle more than anyone

Let's see what the club comes up with. They've been very good at identifying our weaknesses and signing accordingly.

Look...

Des Haslier is punting Fifita for someone big. DCE likely, perhaps Payne Haas or both.

500k D Fifita... I want to say yes, but we have that output question and the other problem of "hey you used to get 1m and now your getting half that and we want you to work harder...". ...

Pros:
Big unit,
Potential growth...

Cons:
Underperforming.
Were not good at building people like how Fifita is at the moment.
Motivation...

.. We don't need to solve Des's cap problem. If we sign Fifita, I would prefer 1-2 years tops. We need someone to take the hitups that May and others are taking. Were not the best club to bring Fifita back... KPP kinda suits us more.
At a guess Reynolds would be cheaper for them I’d expect

There must be something im not seeing with KPP.

From what I’ve seen he is rake thin and shit. I’d have our back row before him any day.
May is exceptional and now being spoken about as a possible SOO rep. Many of us did not know how good he was and the fact he seamlessly blended into the team has been a pleasant surprise. If KPP is recruited, he will be part of a close-knit team which includes many premiership winning players. This provides the correct environment for him to blossom especially playing outside of our halves. I believe he is a player of great potential.

"Blossom" superb imagery wd.

* Fantasy talk *

Imagine if we DID sign him & he comes and returns to origin form.

It'd be like Terrell Davis May all over again.
Good player, unwanted by club for whatever reason, comes to Tigers and goes beast mode.

Quite the story.
Definitely worth a shot, Benji's laid back demeanour and ability to encourage players to chase their potential rather then the militant style of a Hasler that has clearly not worked or produced any sort of value for Titans may be the the secret to unlocking the untapped potential he has, i also feel the culture and standards being adopted in the way they are through the coaching and team leaders would suit. At the right price 6/7k with performance conditions it's a no trainer for me

Realistically, if the culture being developed is right, the players coming in will adapt and rise. While I'm not comparing us to Melbourne, culture is why they plug and play players that nobody thinks are great in solid contributors.
It appears benji and the playing group are developing the right culture the next big step for them is to maintain it and bring in players that it assists.
KPP and Fifita have considerable talent, can the culture help drive that to the next level is the key.

If the Rooster get DCE, they will have Walker, Sandon Smith, Hugo Savala and a couple behind they all in the halves. Ripe for the picking to pick up a half off the Roosters.
What a position to be in (to have those halves on tap already),Sandon Smith and Hugo Zavala for their short amount of time in the NRL are dynamite -yet they don’t seem to get the Hype or publicity that Laughlin Galvin gets as a player and in my humble opinion they’re better players too!!
