I think with the pending announcement of the Bears joining the NRL in 2027 a lot of teams are scrambling to sort out their cap before Nov 1 to make sure they don't get caught in bidding wars with other clubs. Could be why Richo got on the front foot with Galvin rather than waiting to fully sort out our cap.

Can Nanai do the dirty work in defence, all in good been a good attacker but you cannot have a player go missing when it is time to tackle. This also applies to Fifta who looks like Tarazan but ends going walkabouts.

Yeah that's the big query @Bellend about both of them. Benji seems to like those all-effort players in the backrow. Do they lead kick chases or turn up in cover defence when required?

Nanai would be a perfect fit for us, he’d be at the top of my list if there was any chance of him becoming available.
If not Nanai, Fifita at even 80% of his best would improve our team dramatically and if not either of them I suppose Pearce-Paul would do.
It appears one of these 3 will be a Wests Tigers player real soon.

I think we got close with Nanai a season or two ago but decided he would remain a 🐄 perhaps a little older and mature and no longer afraid looking at ventures outside his local area

We’d be insane not to take a stab at getting Fifita (for the right price). Especially when one of our starting second rowers is a pillow and one of the most useless forwards in the game today.

I’d take Fafita on subsided deal every day. He is weapon when happy. Clearly not. The need for an a defensive middle remains but with him May, Pole and hunt up the middle means we are more front foot and less D. Can’t see it happening but a few miracles have happened for this team recently

Richardson was correct in that you get the money and see what eventuates. Quite a lot apparently is happening so we are in a good position. Richardson and Marshall have been correct with recruitment.

I reckon it’s near impossible to get much of an improved defensive work ethic out of Fifita or Nanai and that’s why they have issues with their current coaches.
With these type of players you have to hope their attacking prowess outweighs their defensive deficiencies.

Agree with this. Could be a weapon but not worth the risk at his price tag.

Nanai is the type of strike forward you can insert into a game to challenge him to produce.

He’s the reason that Fafita is in reserve grade from media. I agree though. No idea when off contract. We need back rowers and a few other positions now unfortunately

I’m getting Olam vibes with Fifita.

Plus he looks fat.

Olam tried his heart out for us but was busted,i doubt if Fifita would try anywhere near as hard.To me he has always looked a Counte De Monet sort of player
