OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

I think from all the talk that Luai has never refuted that all the Galvin overcalling Luai and Luai being used to lead the guys around and just play as a link to Galvin is all from Benji, to give Galvin the chance to not worry about organising the team and just play his game. Luai is doing it for the betterment of the team to his own detriment at times. That's on Benji. If it's Benjis plan it's his fault. If it's not Benjis plan and Luai has taken a back seat to Galvin to just play touch footy then its still on Benji for not pulling it up and demanding changes to the style. I'm exactly on the same page as you, I think it's diabolical we have a 19 year old allowed to just play what he sees, while we seem to be forcing Luai into a structure to allow for it. We're in agreement that Galvin in no way should have been given all last year and this year in first grade he should have been brought in and out slowly he has way to many deficiencies in his game. But if Luai wasn't being asked by Benji to let Galvin just do what he wants he should have fixed it. Luai I'd a major piece of the puzzle, granted not the only one. Iv no doubt last weekend was an anomaly, over all our starting team is borderline top 8, we're in trouble because he have no quality depth, also some of Benjis selections could improve. But over all I don't think we're as far off as last weekends game. This weekend against Souths will show us where we really are as a squad. How we bounce back will determine Benjis future imo. I suspect Richo will be looking real close to this week's prep and game.
I agree with most if not all of that, but also think Luai has to walk the walk better than he is.
He is the highest rated, most experienced and decorated player in the side yet has not contributed as such. He has amassed just 3 Dally M points from 9 games. For comparrison, Galvin and Bula are on 10 and May is on 26.

Do I think we have his price tag value this season yet? No - but also don’t see as bad as what some do.

I see a clear difference Luai has made around the team and defensively. The Dragons game Luai owned the organization and middle looked crisp and clean for most part but outside of that looked unstructured and disorganized most the other games this season.

I want to see Luai take more leadership in the middle and own the 1st receiver role more like he did against the Dragons to judge how his value will hold up.

The game against the Bunnies he should make a statement after the dumb comment his dad made & really lead things.

Couldnt disagree more with alot of comments. You can see in the players that we have more about us and every person in the know says its him and Turva. The culture he brings togetherness is worth every penny.
The bigger concern is that people think he can take this roster to the top 8. We have a lot more turning over to do until then. Id say we have 10 -12 good first graders which to me says we are playing well above our weight.
Luai, Turuva and May have added so much, I don't want any of them playing Origin anymore, can you blame me for being selfish?

What an idiot if it's a joke it's a stupid one

Simply being loud and having large personalities doesnt breed a culture.
I personally would keep a respectable distance from them if I was on squad for fear I may get annoyed and slap them.
Our culture should come from hard work and graft as the original clubs came from that. Flashy "look at me" social media king is not what we are about. Noffo tried that remember?

100%, how much falls on Luai and how much falls on Benji though 🤷‍♂️

I highly doubt he wouldve agreed to come here if he knew the Galvin shitfight was waiting.

Only thing i can see is benjis telling luai to sit back and let galvin slowly crucify himself...theres no way benji thinks galvin has more than Luai

Its really baffling Luai took control v Drags magic round...then in melb its back to the Galvin show
I thought Luai tried to take control toward the back end of the game but the game was too far gone...

Luai makes the club a lot of money off the pitch in terms of sponsorship, licensing and merchandise. He's worth it in that respect esp in comparison to Luke Brooks on 1 million dollars.

On the pitch he's been fine. He's not going to be unplayable week in week out. Certainly not against the Storm in Melbourne. Let's see how we're going at the end of the season.

I'd like to see our attack become a bit more coherent as the season goes on, and also I don't expect to see any 3+ match losing streaks with something close to our starting side either.

Not sure what dad thought he was trying to achieve. Especially given how much the spotlight has been on Galvin and his family lately. I’m sure Jerome appreciated the appearance of being under his families thumb.

This is Luai's game to play himself into a NSW blues jersey.
He better get the rest of the team up for it then, he can’t dominate the forwards and stay on his winger at the same time.
I am really interested to see how we respond after last week’s shellacking, (a word not used enough). Souffs will be living it up large this week at training after that game against the donks, and will be full of confidence, that’s when latrine is at his best. We need to put it behind us mentally, but use it as motivation internally to train hard on D line and staying together as one. I think our attack will get it together enough to win the game if we can build confidence from our D.
We needed a bye in the last couple of weeks and it shows. Are we the last team to get a bye?
