OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Tds is just awkward, which nobody does better than WTs!
Api clearly a gun..still..tds just promising at this stage
When given the opportunity, TDS needs to demonstrate he's leapfrogged his mentor
Haven't seen it yet
Smith and Grant went thru same at Storm..
I still don’t get how TDS can throw some really poor passes from dummy half. And some of them even forward. Then there is the element of him trying to kick at the wrong times. Tbh, he is trying too hard to be like Robbie
At this stage id still put Liddle ahead of TDS

Liddle is a damn good player. One of the most underrated in the game. Russell would be proud.

I really do rate Galvin as a player and think he'll be a very good player, and my opinion hasn't changed cause he's leaving - but I don't see his future in the halves at all.

The offers from Bulldogs and Eels are still overs IMO. No idea where he even fits in there, unless he's happy to move to lock early.

Anyway, so off this guy - he's really not worth all of this. Yawn.

TDS stuff annoys me, we've shown him a lot of love. Benji gave him captaincy in one of the trials IIRC. He is clearly the future, and I have no doubt the plan is more minutes for him and less for Api. I hope he bides his time.
What strikes me as odd about the Bulldogs being interested aside from Gus vehemently saying they weren’t going down that path is …

Critta is captain & Kikau also one of the leaders, both very close friends of Luai. Surely they would not be impressed with Galvin’s behaviour to welcome him with open arms.

It’s a nice thought, but being professionals, I’m not sure much it would be a factor. I don’t think they are out of the race. I don’t care what Gus says. He just says whatever is convenient in the moment. I remember when he first took over Penrith, he stated emphatically that Luke Lewis and Michael Jennings would remain at the club when there were big rumours they were leaving. A week after he “confirmed” they were staying, they signed with other clubs.

I’ve just been reading about offers reported to be 750k per season to Galvin by Eels and Dogs.
Given that I understand we were talking a Million or more per season, I can only assume his comments about not being coached by Benji must be valid. That’s a lot of coin to pass up at age 19-20 when a bad injury could stuff your career in the blink of an eye. He must not rate the coach at all.
Given what he’s produced lately, we may end up dodging a bullet but not sure what happens to his sidekick TDS. Seems kind of funny that we were preaching how it was to be our junior pathways to develop and take us forward and yet they seem to be going by the wayside every month. In addition, we seem to be losing interest in the Campbelltown plan.
We’re now also supposedly talking to Reynolds which would push Luau back to 6 and Fainu out. We’d have a new nickname though “Dads Army”.
So much for junior development !

Gus has a history of saying one thing and doing the complete opposite. I believe he has been all in on Galvin for a long time and decision was made when he went to the doggie track some months back.

The money isn't an issue because Gus has already told them that he will be the biggest money earner in the history of the NRL and his manager would be telling him the same - this contract will set you up for the big ones ahead.
He had no intention of ever signing with us - he has been meeting with Mitchell M and Gus - what young junior player does that with a career path laid out for them at the club they are signed at unless they want out?
His life his choice.

You get the feeling the real destination club is yet to emerge. It has a feel of Tedesco about it.
Wouldn’t that be Mike drop for him and Jedi …. I mean I have no idea , I had heard that it was originally the sea eagles that started all this .
That turned out to be bullshit . Or maybe it wasn’t , and they got the player they really wanted in Onitoni large .

It makes me wonder if the Roosters arent considering a play. Galvin fits the roosters image. Unlike May and Brandon smith (who are both great players).

Feel like @Tucker has been pretty consistent in his opinion. I think maybe Galvin went better than he initially expected but all this criticism of his opinions just seems like bitterness about the Galvin situation and wanting everyone to be bagging him.

I don't agree with the club's backflip on Galvin in now letting him go for cheap. I think we should just drop him and let him play reserve grade unless we get a decent player in return. At some point we have to take a stand with these contracts otherwise managers and clubs are just going to keep playing these games. This is the perfect situation for it as he's on a small contract.

We made the same mistake with Cleary, Moses, aloioa, Matterson. It wouldn't be an ideal situation but the club has to eventually take a stand. We always talk tough and then immediately cave in, it looks so weak.
