Tony Sukkar #292

Isaac Moses agitates for a release for Galvin apparently because of Benji's terrible coaching and the culture of bullying at the club yet he's happy for one of his other clients to extend his contract here. Am I missing something or was Moses being deceitful again?
Yeah Sukkar is showing some good signs.

I think the Tigers need to follow the Roosters and close the door on this guy permanently.

How could you deal with this guy again?

Could be wrong but wasn’t it a club option for next season? If so sounds like we made a decision and locked it in.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that forward Tony Sukkar has extended his stay with the club until the end of the 2026 season.

The 21-year-old local junior has made four NRL appearances since debuting in the last match of the club’s 2024 campaign, impressing with his strong running and high work rate.

A product of the club’s Pathways system, Sukkar played his junior football with Strathfield Raiders, Concord-Burwood Wolves and Enfield Federals.

The powerful second-rower progressed through the Balmain Tigers junior representative system, captaining their Harold Matthews Cup team in 2021 and their SG Ball Cup side in 2023.

An NRL Development player in 2024, Sukkar joined the Wests Tigers top 30 squad this season and has proven a handful in his three top grade appearances to date in 2025.

“I have loved coming through the pathways system here at the Wests Tigers,” said Sukkar.

Wests Tigers NRL Head Coach Benji Marshall praised Sukkar’s contribution to the squad.

“Tony has worked extremely hard and continues to grow and develop into a regular first grade player.

“We are excited to have him remain part of the club.”

While I quite rate Tony, does that mean he can still negotiate with other clubs come 1 November?

Interesting comment from him that he is here for another season - very Galvinesque I thought. If he is a Moses client then that could be warning bells.🔔

Well … he can’t say he is here for two years when he has only signed for one

This kid is a powerhouse. Player comp Luke O’ Donnell. He will be in the 17 every week in a short period of time.
I love your enthusiasm, I hope you’re correct. I love juniors making it. (Our ones that stay).
Has he scored his first meat pie yet?
I might start backing him in.
