Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wouldn't be surprised if flirting with Souths was aimed at getting Richo to shit or get off the pot.
He's openly stated he wants to play for Wests.
yup , only reason I’d see bunnies getting him would be wayne , these types of characters wayne is good at looking after . terrell was asked on his stream last night what he thinks abt taylan touring the souths facility and he said he just wants his brother to be happy no matter what .

Time will tell… Being nearly 21 and dropping back through the grades instead of going the other way isn’t a great sign though … he probably needs a change, just like the Tigers have done with Taateo coming here from Canberra

This is our strongest KOE backline in ages with all 7 having first grade experience. Feledy is behind Naden and Faataape in the pecking order and unfortunately he doesn't have the versatility to play wing or fullback, so demotion to Jersey Flegg or RMC was the only option.

1. Luke Laulili'i

2. Charlie Staines

3. Solomona Faataape

4. Brent Naden

5. Izaac Tu'itupou

6. Krystian Mapapalangi

7. Kurt Falls

it’s honestly our best KOE side all year, it’s competitive with every other team in that comp now 😂

No way. TDS is more like Brandon Smith. Haywood is the one, keep Api till then
Habbo iv never seen this kid play is he the real deal or just another junior were hitching our wagon to because we're so desperate for a way up the ladder. Why gives you the confidence Haywood isn't just another junior being pumped up. Iv heard heaps of people say he is the future hooker. Adele on the pod really rates him. But we've heard all this before with others.

Where is this south west junior nursery we supposedly have?
True, for all the talk of being a development club atm our development sucks, apart from Talyn, who has come through the Macarthur region that we identified and brought through. Last I can remember who kicked on was Tedesco. There's more than likely others iv forgotten but we don't produce much at all at the moment. We generally would get them young and bring them in. No doubt Richo is working on trying to sort it, so it'll take a few years for the results to show. But really he needs to go to HBG and say your a not for profit start dumping money into our junior development, pathways and scouting networks.

First it was Liddle, then he was expendable cos we had Simpkin coming through. Then he was expendable cos we had TDS. Now TDS is expendable cos of Haywood. There’s a pattern here. We haven’t developed a quality 9 since Farah.
Agree champ, we know that TDS can play first grade, we can't say the same yet for Haywood. I would rather go with the known option than the unknown.

Our best juniors seem to come out of nowhere. There wasn’t much fuss around Bula, and dare I say….Galvin before they both debuted. There was a little in the pre season as round 1 approached for Galvin, but that was it. The guys that are talked about for a year or two tend to be the ones who are nothing but hot air.

he’s the real deal, very similar to api. in an ideal world we’d keep all of them, but if tallyn wants a starting spot you can’t blame him and just like losing galvin, it doesn’t hurt as much because we are lucky to have quality back ups in 6 and 9 . other positions not so much.

The choice as per Da Silva's manager is either Koroisau or TDS, not both. Haywood has re-signed until end of 28. Here is the article and this comment below reads like a the rejection of which will result.

"It's up to the Tigers to decide what they want to do, but if Api stays, chances are Tallyn will have to go."

Da Silva and Haywood is the same situation. If Da Silva decides he doesn't want to stay for whatever reason, we have another one right behind him. We will be fine.

This goes way beyond this individual situation.

What does it say about our club?

It says we have problems, a good, well run club should be able to keep their juniors. players.

Juniors and retention (Toa) are the way we are suppose to get out of trouble. We can't continue to pay overs for players to come to our club, it's not sustainable.

TDS over API for 2027. Api can play a supporting role and be paid accordingly

What makes you say Haywood is the one? Genuinely curious.

From what I saw/have seen, Tallyn was by far the best 9 in his SG Ball season and was playing in the NRL that year. He had something like 9 tries in 10 games playing hooker.

Haywood was probably the 3rd-4th best hooker in SG Ball this year and doesn't look close to NRL ready yet. Jaxson Allen, Lachlan Coinakis and Zaidas Muagututia are all ahead of him in his own age group.

What does it say about our club?

It says we have problems, a good, well run club should be able to keep their juniors and 'good' players.

Retaining 18 and 19 year olds should be a lay up for clubs. 99% of players at those ages will usually re-sign. It’s the contract after that they are more likely to change clubs. For us these days, re-signing these kids is a struggle. That ain’t good.

lets just say we loose everyone bar api

in 2027 manese fainu will have a full preseason and be 27/28 years old 🧐 hahah
People scoff at this.

I would actually be surprised if he's not back in some capacity.

Jarryd Hayne was out of the game for 6.5 years, and, at 37 years old, is back playing Ron Massey Cup.

Cup is one, single level above that and if you're in the Cup conversation somewhere and are playing well, you'll be in the NRL conversation somewhere.

Depending on Manase's mindset post-sentence, he should at least be an option on the list around that time, even if is option c) or d).

I’m one of those who scoffs. But not because he will have been in jail. He will have paid his debt, so good luck to him. I’d just like to think we could do better than sign a guy who’s been in jail for 6 or 7 years. Are there are no current first graders we could atttract?

I’m not scoffing …just raising one eyebrow … I’ll tell you,.. the kid had some wraps on him when he was coming through the pathways at Manly ,,.,they decided to move on Api for him….

Are Penrith a good, well run club?

Because they have lost far more good young players than the Tigers have.
