That halves combo would definitely be a success and adding Sexton would give us a decent, confident kicking game as well as a goal kicking option, but if we done that what happens with Latu ?
As Chamnas stated last night, we really need to know if either Latu or Mason can work at 5/8 alongside Luai before we look at recruiting any halves.
If we could get Tyrone May at a cheapest price, he would be good option to provide halves depth, but he’s currently starring in the UK, so he probably wouldn’t come back just to be a backup option.

I would give Payne Haas $2m. 3 years. Circuit breaker to change the perception of the club being a loser club. Will set us on the tight path going forward. Would need $2m to get him to move from Brisbane. Generational player. Good chance of being the best forward to have played the game by the time he finishes. Do it Richo. This would absolutely change the game for Wests.

Bula = Not top 8 standard
Turuva = Yes
Toa = Yes probably
Douehi = Nope, sadly.
Skelton = Nope, but has potential
Mason = Nope, too green
Luai = Yes

Being the first club to pay generational overs for any player could easily be used as further evidence we are a loser club.

Not to say it's necessarily a bad idea but your reasoning seems to underestimate the lengths people go to to portray us as bumbling.

Yeah a lot of clubs are holding on trying to stockpile or add in time for the new teams to come in.
Meanwhile we have 3 spots this year and about 8 next year and nothing.
Also NRL.com has Jarome registered as only 25 and 26 so player options aside effectively he is off contract from Nov1.
I wonder if Richo is just waiting until the next squad deadline of March next year for agents to start throwing their players at the Tigers just knowing they have the spots available.

I doubt anyone buys Jarome. You'd need half an ex-panther squad around him in any case.

In the current top 8 I'd say there are 2 maybe 3 sides where Bula wouldn't be their fullback if he was at their club.

Not sure what incentive Newy have to release him early.

Depends how much is left to pay KPP for the rest of his years salary, could free up funds for next year by using that spare cash to front load one of their bigger contracts now.

Fwiw Luai getting hooked in the 2023 grand final, moving Cleary to 6 and playing Cogger at 7 totally shifted that match and won it for Penrith.
