LIVE GAME Round 14 v Panthers

Live Game Discussion
Weird thing is we are both 2 points off last and 2 points off 7th its such a crazy close comp. My worry is that we have lost 5 close games now we could have won and that challenges you at the end of the year
True but if you compete every week you usually win about half the close ones, i.e. it evens out over time.

It's usually not the close losses that define a season for developing teams, it's the thrashings. The loss to Storm is by far the worst thing that's happened to us this year.

I was surprised Murray came on 3 minutes before halftime. Seems a waste so close to the break
Yeah that was terrible, unless the player was injured or couldn’t walk what’s the point. Something for the coach to work on, seems basics to me.

ohs , can't throw the little ones straight into the deep end anymore, besides a wasted intrerchange

Was sitting next to a panthers couple with a 10yo son with them...we were chatting occasionally seemed like nice bloke then when Luai hit Cleary this guy just totally blew his mind...like a switch flicked..spit flying and temple veins throbbing, 2 dozen F & Cs directed at Luai...poor little kid looking embarrased as hell as was mum...i said to him when he calmed down i bet you loved him the past 4 years..."naah hes always been a %!*%* and hes nothing without Nathe"

Lol emotion + booze = psycho.

Tough game...boys had a real dig we just cant find that polishing finish.
Im surprised at peoples comment on Romey i thought he was fairly average to costly...we were near perfect first half completion.rate 2nd half no field.position and looked buggered im amazed to read kit didnt get a run...
Parra stdm shits me i think its colder than canberra...another brilliant move from the club playing here...why were.penrith in their main strip when.its our home game,?
Just regarding the playing strip, we don’t really have home and away strips. We obviously decided on our orange jersey today so panthers would have been told to wear their dark strip (their usual home jersey)

The first part hopefully had sfa to do with it, but yeah a wasted interchange.
That is something I reckon the Coaches can work on. Our bench and use of it has been average. The quality of bench obviously is a reflection of the roster. Some will say it’s Benji’s but it’s not quite yet, and may never be due to our decade of stink. But the coach and his assistants can and should do better with the bench.

what are you trying to say . You want Naden resigned x 2.

I know i copped it earlier mentioning this but mason had 15 tackles 11 missed he can't defend wide yet. It's suicide.
Yes, that is very disappointing as he defended really well last week - but today he basically missed 50% of all attempts.

I like What Benji Said in the Presser

We were the better side tonight,

2x wrong decisions decided the game

3 if you include the hip drop, which I didn’t see/consider till I saw on here. That was the most important call coz it was a potential penalty try with 5 to go.

Thought that was one of our better games this season. We were centimetres away from winning it and had a few tough calls go against us. We were definitely short on muscle in the middle and we missed a few goals as well. All in all it was a good effort considering our line up.
Looking at the game constructively……. For the most part we tackled well and ran the ball well, however we did seem to struggle to get through the advantage line in A, and at times we simply can not dominate the tackle. This sees us slow to marker or even have no marker at all, allowing the opposition heaps of meters and momentum.
We have a real problem with our D in the centres and wings, especially Toa and Turuva. As for AD he is way too slow and his goal kicking is average at best. When you look at what the top centres in the game can do I can’t see how we can compete with AD.
We missed Pole and Twal today as well as the early season version of Hunt.

Yeah, cracker game.
Some big hits. Love to see it !

Thought Ziggy did a good job af ref
They said it's his 2nd first grade gig this year

As Benji said, we were the better team.
Just couldn't get the job done.

Lots to like about this team.
Latu... wow. Dangerous player.

I’ve just watched the highlights again( in the cold light of day) and make the following comments;
IMO the tackle on Bula was not a hip drop.
Despite the refs calls on Romey being tough, for the past 2 weeks his indiscretions have hurt us. Must be more disciplined .
Whilst I have been supportive of AD in the past, he let us down yesterday and his place in the team must be questioned.
As I’ve said elsewhere Romey definitely a 5/8 not a 1/2. Latu to 7 for me.
Another frustrating loss but one of our better games this year.
Our next assignment v Raiders @ Death Valley, hard to see the losing streak ending. But we remain hopeful that a win is near.

The Panthers isolated Mason in defence. We should've targeted Talagi but couldn't get him one-on-one. It happens far to often. The game against the Eels was the prime example. Moses ran a lot of traffic at Luai but we didn't return the favour.
