How has benji showed signs of being a good coach? Seriously? He's got some of the best recruits in the NRL this season and they are still struggling. What's the common denominator... Didn't handle the galvin situation well. 4 losses in a row heading into a raiders game. 64-0 thumping. His standards are quite low. I remember him saying at the dragons game we are 5-4... almost like he was happy at that point to concede the season and take it easy for a bit. The week after, we play terrible. Avoiding the spoon is his goal, not making the top 8.

That's where I think Benji potentially has real credibility as a Head Coach. We obviously have money like everyone else and can sign players, but it's got to be more than that, there has to be the drive and respect for the club and the mentors, like Storm has under Bellamy.

I think the bigger news from that Reynolds snippet is that ex-Wests coach Ben Gardiner has gotten the Bears job. Pretty sure he'll be doing all the coaching, Mal will just manage egos.

Makes Ben Gardiner, Andrew Webster, Ivan Cleary, Todd Payten and Michael Maguire as ex-Tigers employees from past 10 years now all current NRL head coaches.

Yea, that's the really sad thing with the NRL. We have easts and Donkeys working out supplimental payments and post NRL careers.

but, here's what gets me. Who in the NRL has the best post-NRL careers:
Woodsy - Triple M. some media.
Braith Anasta - TV (although mainly recognised for Dogs/Easts)
Beau Ryan - Comedy/Triple M.
Benji Marshall - Footy show veteran + Various media.
Josh Reynolds - Lowes

Kinda surprised more players aren't joining us for that reason. If you have played for the Tigers and Bulldogs, a media gig seems very likely.

I’m one of the few people that rate him.

If got coached properly he’d be a gun.

Can see him going to Melbourne.

Some games he played for us he was the best on the ground.

I am with you 100%. Anyone with that build, that height, that pace, that tackle breaking ability could exceed in the NRL. He is unlucky he is behind two good wingers at Redcliffe, but he would start for alot of teams. He is different to Turuva and Skelton, but definitely not worse, if anything a higher ceiling.

I would not go for him, as we have too many other problems to sort than to spend decent money on another winger. I think wingers you can cover with stop gap players etc if needed (EG - Montoya at Dogs), and I still don't think he comes back that cheap. Until we sort out 3-4 forwards, but otherwise definitely
