Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Bulldogs have signed highly-rated 19-year-old Aaymon Fitzgibbon — son of Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon — on a 3-year deal. The big-bodied five-eighth turned down a Dragons offer to join the Dogs, with his camp believing Canterbury was the better fit. The Bulldogs are building a powerhouse youth system, adding another elite talent, former Aussie Schoolboys rep Finau Latu, just three weeks ago. They’ve now secured Aaymon Fitzgibbon, Jack Ennis, David Bryenton & Latu — all poached from rival systems (DT)

why aren’t we doing this ? it’s the same recruitment plan as the raiders , find the best young and get them in the system asap . is it kids just don’t want to come here ?
But the bulldogs motto is "Breed NOT Brought" ...

They have to be the highest recruitment club in the NRL and completely opposite to what they say..

There’s no actual story there ? What’s the point of that article ? He says there’s things going on , but to what extent and then he brings up Galvin and Sullivan ? WTF …. The bulldogs once thought thier halves were Burton and Sexton … things change … this is Gus Gould bullshit spin IMO . To try and shift the narrative away from how much of dickhead his 19 year old star is . When everyone knows he is a dickhead .
Is it about Richo ? Is that the target saying Richo is the one who put the clauses in ? I have zero idea what’s the point of repeating something that everyone knew a year ago …
I thought the same thing. It is quite confusing unless he wants us to know he has an axe to grind w WT. In that case, it's very clear.

Been thinking about this @Vicious & IMO I reckon you’re right that Kit, Rahme & Taateo may be ready to step up for us very soon.

But what we lack that these guys don’t have yet is that combination of experience & a voice amongst our middles to direct & motivate. Terrell has this to a degree but I don’t think we have another yet, maybe Bird & Seyfarth.

The likes of Kamikamica, Josh Papaali & Frizell could be options but not really talkers.

One player who fits the bill of a mid sized middle with great work ethic & a voice is Adam Elliott, off contract & won’t be extended at Knights. Plus can play edge at a pinch.
If he come with the right attitude and fit the right price I’d be all for offering him a one year contract with an option in our favour for a second year.
He’s been very injury prone over the past few seasons which is a concern, but when he’s fit and close to his best he plays tough with some good before the line playmaking ability and as you say, he’s a natural on field talker/leader.

Hey I actually have a rumour for the rumour thread, hope that's okay???

Carayannis on ABC said in response to a listener question that we're firmly after Jonah Glover from St George. Anyone know much about him?

He also reported they see Latu as more of a lock, hence why looking at Reynolds. Carayannis thought It was good for us that we missed out on Reynolds.

I think Latu would be a good lock but I also don't see why they wouldn't see him as a very good half option.

Canterbury has been a "destination" for all of 1 season... I don't even believe it to be true. Look at their KOE team, not great...

NRL side hasnt proved anything yet...

Its the media blokes with ties to the doggies and a select few in the media

So it becomes an echo chamber where they all call the doGgies a development club

Look at the eels a few years back and where they are now...

That cliff is easy to fall from
Case in point. Just heard woodsy on SEN after posting this, and he went on to talk about ciraldo and dogs as a development club...

It has been weeks now since Galvin gave us the flick how do we feel about it now did we really hate the guy, nah just his guts, hope he has a stinker this arvo and contributes to a heavy loss.

Where do these reporters get these make believe figures from 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

When Bud Sullivan’s career was at a crossroads, one of the first people he called was Phil Gould.

Despite being on a contract worth $700,000 a year until the end of 2027, the Wests Tigers informed Sullivan he was surplus to requirements after signing Jarome Luai.
