Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Klein tried to change that script tonight.
Didn't catch the game but that first half penalty count was total garbage. How can 1 team be so ill disciplined and one team be absolutly perfect. Like the perfect team didn't do one wrong thing they could have been pinged for not one. Or maybe he just wasn't looking for it. More money for the N.R.L in game 3 if it's not a dead rubber. But they would never do that.

If it is us and he's been retained ahead of Tino Tavana, Max Taotua & Cameron Kanaan, I am going to rant and I'm not one to rant. Let's just wait and see.

I'll keep an eye out for it...

Based on your thoughts of him, Who else you reckon is stupid enough to sign him.
And then have his manager big note about it

It will most likely be a Cup contract you would assume. That would represent a new category of deal for him, so still makes sense for a sit down signing at what looks like Concord.

Also, it'll have no baring on those other boys BWG. I'm not sure their contract situation. I thought I heard Tavana was earmarked for dev in '26, but may be wrong.

Every year there's a truckload of pathways deals later in the year, I'd say all the Flegg and Ball boys that they like but that haven't been locked up yet will be swept up in new or Cup deals by the end of the year.

the entire pathway deals and contracts are so confusing, no clarification from the club whatsoever as to who’s on what

Klein is by far the worst ref iv ever seen in rugby league. Like refs have howlers they're human it happens occasionally no one begrudged people making mistakes we all do. But Klein is good for 1 or 2 howlers a game. How he is rated so highly by the admin to keep getting these big games is beyond comprehension imo. Maybe they're just that low on experienced refs, iv no idea. Casey Badger and Belinda Sharp are light years ahead of him and they make calls at times 10 metres behind the play cause sometimes they can't keep up. Mind you I remember a game we had with Kasey Badger where we had like 5 penalties we captain challenged and won all 5. I still rate her better than Klein.

Barry Gommersal (spelling) was worse by a long way.He was always Queenslands best player Klein is only their best player sometimes.

Only possibly Bulldogs due to the Luke Vella Westfields connection where he went to school, Manly via the Warren McDonnell connection & his love of bringing WT players across to Manly or possibly Penrith as there were links there in the pre-season.

Even a Cup contract is probably a level too high @Kelce68 I could possibly understand & accept a Flegg contract for '26 with us but even then we need to create room for the likes of Jack Nicholas, Saint Fuatimau & Riley Oitmann and other SG Ball top agers from this year who IMO have a higher ceiling.

The WT Faithful lads posted something scary on Twitter that maybe his development deal had a Sheens/McDonnell promotion to top 30 the following year in it as Will was originally signed under that regime.

If Will Craig IS being signed by the Tigers, I'd happily have him signed over Alex Lobb, who is also under contract.

It's all about the level of the signing.

Haha I thought you’d be used that happening supporting the Tigers!

Yep no doubt priming us up for a game 3 decider, there’s not as much money to be made from a dead rubber. NSW were very ill disciplined in that first half, so some of those penalties were justified, but Klein definitely turned a blind eye to whatever Qld was doing, especially with regards to keeping the 10 metres, it was more like 5!

.

It will never be tidied up …. In addition to the NRL having little appetite to enforce the salary cap.. the RLPA doesn’t want any transparency in what players are earning ( I wonder why…) so essentially both sides are happy with the status quo … the media has done nothing either …past salary cap breaches have come from whistle blowers inside the clubs ( Canterbury and Storm)..
I don't understand the transparency of salaries argument. I'm not so much against it, I just don't see how it helps. The NRL has the recorded salaries. They would have to add up correctly. The published 'transparent' salaries would be what the public would see, thus they would add up. Supposed cap rorting is paying outside of this salary. If it can't be proven to be happening now, how will it be proven to be happening after the recorded salary is known?

Again, if he's signed & taking the place of someone like Alex Lobb, I'm good.

If he's higher up the food chain than that, you start to question things.
He should be well behind Lobb and Lobb shouldn't make our NSW Cup team.

I'd be concerned if this is top 30 unless it's a rest of the year thing to fulfil the numbers.
