Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There is always Manly this week, but noises coming out of Manly, Turbo not happy and picked at centre, Seibold under pressure etc.

They are there for the taking but historically this is one of those games we should win but historically never do. 😡

At least we aren't favourites with the bookies.
manly is no joke a must win game. turbo will be in centres I’m guessing To’a will be marking him so he needs to have a big game.

Wait till they see Mason names at FB, you’ll see one of the biggest fluctuations ever.
Imagine him trying to tackle Turbo in full flight? Which hasn’t happened in two seasons, but you know he’s turning up with wings on this week.
For some reason I like seeing Seibold fail. I’m not sure why?

Can we recruit the best scouts please? It feels like this is the area we are lacking. The roosters have just signed Canberra's best scout. We should look in the chook pen for any disgruntled scouts.

Look at all the roosters rookies this year, they're all nrl ready.

We need to be better at identifying talent.

I also think our pathways isn't upto scratch.
I agree with your concept of having great recruiting, but we’ve had good scouts, players, admin personnel etc in the past and failed to capitalise on their skills for any consistent length of time.
The club needs a more holistic approach.
We can’t have harmonic motion on the field if it doesn’t exist in the boardrooms. If we want the best people in their field to gravitate to the club we need to be displaying consistent improvement in all areas.

While it’s great they want him, how much are they willing to pay for him is the question.
I’d be willing to bet they do not offer any more than 250k and that would mean we are stuck contributing the other 250k towards his 500k co tract that we signed him to.
Not ideal, but it could be worse.
They can have him at full freight for 2 years. 🤣 🤞

We'll even throw Royce in.

GAHHHH apparently Mason will be 5/8 again this weekend

not starting latu is costing us games 🤦🏻‍♀️
He's got to be on a playing time restriction while still getting over any niggles/injuries, but then again, Benji seems to make a lot of decisions that many of us believe cost us games.

We can’t compete dollar wise. For example the Bulldogs spent $4 million on pathways retention and recruitment. That includes the North Coast academy and Fiji academy they have. Apparently that is by far the most out of any nrl club. The Roosters also spend up big. When you consider they will fly kids in from Nz on a Friday to play SG Ball & then fly them back on a Sunday. We should be able to stock pile talent considering we have Wests & Balmain in junior reps but we don’t, whether we aren’t identifying talent or can’t afford that talent I am not sure

Do you think we would even had talks with Selwyn Cobbo??
I would hope so as he would be an automatic walk in to our side for sure ??

The kid, Taine Tuiapiki isn't making the warriors 17 at the moment.

Electric fullback.
I'd be throwing him a contract asap also.

Let's start making some moves!

Suggested him 2 years ago.
We obviously need a 6 and 7 but also need a genuine 13, at least one more outside back and a few extra quality forwards.
I dont know what the plans are for the halves. I think the best we can do is two of Brooks, Lam, Sexton and Weaver with only the first 2 currently free to negotiate.
If Trey Mooney isn't extended before November I'd be chasing him pretty hard as the 13. I think he is by far the best young 13 around. Came through at Cabramatta so may want to return home. If Matamua does kick on who I think might make it as a lock but not much use elsewhere Mooney can play anywhere in the pack.
The best outside back coming off contract I think is Taine Tuaupiki. He's a fullback but I think he could do well anywhere in the back 5. Would give him an off season in the centres and if he doesn't win the spot over Naden he'd be next man up for any of the backs.

I don't (just) say this to toot my own horn but I think it shows one place where the club is lacking. There were decent players up for grabs when they wouldn't have cost much at all. Tuapuiki now still wouldn't cost much but it would be significantly more than 2 years ago. Perhaps the lack of scouts comments earlier is accurate.

very true
if the club gets another spoon it’s their own fault, depth was always going to be huge issue and they sat on their hands about it
