Tallyn Da Silva #270

Yes.

It seemed to be the broad plan that we could piggyback on the success of the panthers and deploy some of their stars in the service of the Wests Tigers. I think the dogs have also had a similar route.

Some might find a thread of logic in this approach.

Then we add the recommendations from stats lady.

Then strangely, our best player per pound, Terrell, arrives by freak chance.

Of course, credit to Benji and Richo for telling him everything he wants to hear!

“Yes, yes and yes. No, you don’t have to play if you don’t feel like it. Robbo doesn’t appreciate you…”

He was easily influenced and we jagged it.

Taylan is another panthera, but unplanned and a the act of giant magpie bearing gifts category, like his brother.

We didn’t like his interview, we started losing and then he’s signed in 2 seconds flat.

Business as usual, everythings under control. I love this club.
lol when you write it all down it’s funnier than anything Hollywood has come up with in many years

I love Api. One of my favourite players. However, he won’t be around forever, and we need to plan for the future. If he stays beyond 26, he should play second fiddle.
26 even should be his transition time...

But the question is not Api, nor TDS now...

It's who is coming up. Tristan Hope seems like a young kid who could, but has been lucky to get a run on in a trial game.

Haywood is the other name mentioned. I really want to know if he is really that good that TDS takes second fiddle. Happy for us to back the reserve grader coming up, no one here wouldn't take JAC + Ryan P over Teddy/Moses knowing what happens.

Brnji is safe as long as Luai remains here until the get out the clauses expire.
Yes, unless we can convince Benji to want to step down and sell the idea to JL.

That would take some planning.

And to be fair, Benji would have some legitimate concerns about players not following his instructions etc.

But Skels being back in the side suggests that discipline isn’t a life or death issue for Benji. It’s simply not as important as what Benji thinks he can bring to the game.

I disagree with Benji, but I’d rather be wrong and Skels scores the winning try.

Yeah maybe this is true but let’s focus on TDS. It’s clear, he is quality and has huge potential, certainly above the average local junior.

So for the sake of the future of the club, we need to keep him. Can we please finally keep a high quality junior. It’s been a very long time since we have (Brooks maybe)

He will attract players and we can finally build a team around him and others. He’s got 12 more years left in him….12

And if don’t, it’ll just be the same old thing.
Seriously? Which players is TDS attracting?

I’ve heard tallyn is not being shopped around exactly, he’s been shopped around on a loan deal but is to return to the tigers. Benji and co see him as the future 9 and know he needs time in first grade so believe it’s best for him to do a harry grant style deal. Sorry if others have already mentioned this
Never apologise for being logical.

Discipline has ALWAYS been an issue at this club and lets be honest, Marshall won't fix it.

That said, if not Skels.. who else:
Tyrone May?
Naden?

The only player I can think is Staines in and Skels out. Staines should have been a team mainstay and like so many has found better form this year. I view Skelton > Staines, yes Skelton may be more undisciplined but definately a better defender.

The optimist in me is hoping that Richo has allowed TDS to test his market to determine fair his value. Then Tigers get the right to respond and if close enough do a deal that shows him enough money (soon to be able to be established) and a path to starting.

To be fair to TDS and Tigers they don’t currently know what TDS is sacrificing to stay. Soon they will.
💯 it’s only fair for him to know his value

Api has been more than loyal, is our captain and has been a rock of consistency since joining. He now is starting to get a support cast and no doubts is starting to feel like things are turning & he can play on for a few more years.

TDS needs minutes & needs to apply his trade with the best to keep his improvement going, being on the bench or in NSW cup isn’t the solution over the next 2yrs+. I don’t think TDS has had an issue doing an apprenticeship but do think he has enough confidence to not be doing an extended apprenticeship.

I don’t for a minute think this is as clear cut as some who are losing their minds over it - Api v TDS or Galvin style scenario. It sounds like timing of the succession planning communication being the key here.

Appreciate your posts on TDS mate

Do you know if he is happy with that?

It's not such a bad idea

Tigers stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one

Hope it works out for us

I don't really understand this though? Unless it is a loan deal for 3 years.

The whole reason TDS wants out is because he sees himself at a starting hooker come 2027 and Api is blocking his pathway. Unless the club have sold him the vision I think a loan deal does not make any sense.
